complete Assessments 1-6. Just as importantly the document serves to organize your thoughts
about planning for your academic and professional success.

Week 1 | Part 1: My Academic and Professional Network

network will help me to clarify my vision for success and will help guide me now and in the
future.
Directions: Complete the information below for each member of your network. For more than

Name: Jin Mar

Why I selected this individual and/or team and how they will support my success in the
MSN program and as a practicing nurse: Jin Mar is a registered nurse currently working as a
professional instructor at Washington Hospital Center. He offers support for existing nurses
working in our hospital for the learning needs. He will be a fantastic supportive individual for
students like me who seek progression in their professions. For teaching materials, key steps,
general healthcare procedures, and other associated study aids, I can count on her.
Notes: She holds nearly 10 years of actual Critical Care and Vascular Care.

Name: Jenifer Kim
Title: RN Case Management

Why I selected this individual and/or team and how they will support my success in the
MSN program and as a practicing nurse: Jenifer Kim had been my previous Cardio room
nurse manager. I aspire towards her attributes in competence, and also her integrity. She is
among the few executive figures who have shown wholehearted support to health care nurses
seeking further study. She trusted in my skills and gave me the chance of becoming a cardio
room nurse preceptor. It helped me to understand that seeking learning would encourage me to
go on with my profession.
Notes: She has more than 10 years of experience working as a RN. She had already been
working in Washington Hospital managerial positions.

Name: Mrs.Kim
Title: Mental Health RN and Just earned PMHNP
Organization: Serenity Rehabilitation

Why I selected this individual and/or team and how they will support my success in the
MSN program and as a practicing nurse: Mrs.Kim likes to be just a Clinical Mental Health
Registered nurse and the cause I want her to be apart from the performance with me is that I
know how good she was as an RN nurse, offering her everything to her patients and keeping
them safe and supplying them with advice about how to achieve significant progress. Her
primary objective has always been every patient's health, physical, and mental well-being. Mrs.
Kim has inspired me to pursue my career because I was a mental health nurse on the floor. Mrs.
Kim has and always will be a source of strength to me and a real nurse to reach up and seek
advice.

Why I selected this individual and/or team and how they will support my success in the
MSN program and as a practicing nurse: Mrs. Martha is a nurse practitioner in the family or
can be said she is a FNP and has a MSN degree. she serves for the Blue Cross Blue Shield
Organization. She has highly literate and expertise with patient treatment. She will be a great role
model in assisting me identify disorders and recognize different treatment methods. I believe that
she can express to me will be a good place to start for my career progress.
Notes: She has more than 10 years of work experience as a registered nurse in various clinical
fields. Before becoming a nurse practitioner, she used to train the nurses as an educator.

Week 2 | Part 2: Academic Resources and Strategies
I have identified the following academic resources and strategies that can i can apply to succeed
in the nursing practice in general or my specialty in particular.
Directions: In the space below Identify and describe at least three academic resources or
strategies that can be applied to the MSN program, and at least three professional resources
that can be applied to success in the nursing practice in general or your specialty in particular.
For each, explain how you intend to use these resources, and how they might benefit you
academically and professionally.
Accomplishing an MSN program requires a lot of effort, dedication and passion. However,
acquiring the right resources can make easier for one to tackle the exams, projects, assignments
and more. The following are some of the academic and professional resources and/or strategies
that I have identified that can lead to success.
ACADEMIC RESOURCE/STRATEGY 1
Use of Smartphone Applications – this comes handy during this technological era where a
smartphone is essential for every individual. Mobile applications have become a great resource
for students since there are many applications that aids in accessing information required and
also elaborating them. Therefore, applying this strategy will ensure that I have access to my
study materials anywhere and anytime I need to study. This is because a smartphone is portable
and is carried anywhere.
ACADEMIC RESOURCE/STRATEGY 2
Use of social medial – the use of social media platforms such as WhatsApp, Facebook, and
telegram continues to grow globally. It has reduced the world to a global village. Therefore,
through these platforms, I will get to interact easily with my classmates, tutors and even several
other nursing professionals. We get to share ideas and receive updates on new developments. No
one gets left out. Whenever I encounter any difficulty with my studies, I can also seek help
through this platform and quickly get sorted. Therefore, social media platforms not only help to
engage with the nursing community but also saves time and expenses that could have been
incurred searching for help.

ACADEMIC RESOURCE/STRATEGY 3
Walden University library – this is a handy resource since Walden University is fully geared
towards nurturing an information-literate Walden community. This thus suits me well since I can
get access to a variety of books easily. The books can also be accessed online and hence making
it even easier. The librarians are also readily available to offer assistance and guidance in
accessing the books that I will need.
PROFESSIONAL RESOURCE/STRATEGY 1
Teamwork- I have many friends who are willing to work with me as I further my studies. Some
have completed their studies and working while others are still studying. Some are from a
various profession, such as doctors, but I firmly believe that each of them contributes towards
my success in one way or another.
PROFESSIONAL RESOURCE/STRATEGY 2
Joining the nurses' associations- there are several associations that I can join as I further my studies.
Most of these associations provide extensive opportunities for networking, professional development.
Career guidance, clinical resources and even job opportunities. These resources will, therefore, help in
building my career much more efficiently.
PROFESSIONAL RESOURCE/STRATEGY 3
Teaching- this involves teaching other members of the profession on my area of expertise. This
is a strategy that will help me also learn more. As I teach, I also get to interact and learn more
from the people I am teaching. Moreover, it is useful since they will also transfer the
information, they get from me to others, hence, fostering an information-oriented community.

Journals – there is wide access to online journals that can be used to obtain information.

Week 3 | Part 3: Strategies to Promote Academic Integrity and Professional Ethics
I have analyzed the relationship between academic integrity and writing, as well as the
relationship between professional practices and scholarly ethics. I have also identified strategies I
intend to pursue to maintain integrity and ethics of my academic work while a student of the
MSN program, as well as my professional work as a nurse throughout my career. The results of
these efforts are shared below.

Connection Between Academic and Professional Integrity) and Part 2 (Strategies for
Maintaining Integrity of Work).
Part 1: Writing Sample: The Connection Between Academic and Professional Integrity

PART 2: Strategies for Maintaining Integrity of Work

of your 1) academic work while a student of the MSN program, and 2) professional work
as a nurse throughout your career. Include a review of resources and approaches you
propose to use as a student and a professional.

Week 4 | Part 4: Research Analysis
I have identified one topic of interest for further study. I have researched and identified one peer-
reviewed research article focused on this topic and have analyzed this article. The results of
these efforts are shared below.
Directions: Complete Step 1 by using the table and subsequent space below identify and analyze

Week 5 | Part 5: Professional Development
I have developed a curriculum vitae to capture my academic and professional accomplishments
to date. I have also developed a statement identifying one or more professional development
goals, and a statement proposing how I might align one or more of these professional
development goals with the University’s emphasis on social change.
The results of my efforts are below.
Directions: Complete Step 1 by developing (or copying and pasting) a curriculum vitae (CV) in
the space provided. Complete Step 2 by completing a statement identifying your professional
development goals space identified. Complete Step 3 by writing a statement proposing how you
might align one or more of your professional development goals with the University’s emphasis

I have considered various options for my nursing specialty, including a close look at my selected
(or currently preferred) specialty and second-preferred specialty. I have also developed a
justification of my selected (or preferred) specialty. Lastly, I have examined one professional
organization related to my selected or preferred specialty and considered how I can become a
member of this organization.
The results of my efforts are below.
Directions: Complete Step 1 by writing 2-3 paragraphs in the space below comparing the
nursing specialty you have selected – or the one you prefer if your choice is still under
consideration - to your second preference. Identify each specialty and describe the focus and
the role that graduates are prepared for. Identify any other differentiators you feel are
significant, especially those that helped or may help you reach a decision.
