Improving the road link from M54 to M6 or M6 Toll will:
 Ease traffic congestion on A449, A460 and AS enhancing journey times due to their
reliability;
 Facilitate the facilities for cyclists, pedestrians and equestrians;
 Facilitate the local economic growth of Shrewsbury, Telford, Cannock, Wolverhampton
and
 Separating the local traffic from long distance traffic by keeping the right traffic on the
right road
The proposed highways in England road that links M54 to M6 will ease the traffic congestion
by enhancing the flow of traffic, reducing accidents, and improving the connectivity with the
local neighbor areas. In most cases, the high traffic is experienced due to the freight traffic that
often use the local road network such as A460 rather than the express way to travel from M54 to
the north of M6. This action leaves the local roads struggling to fight the congestion, which
affects both local business and road users (Highways England, 2019a). The proposed
schemes will help solve these problems and enhance the local economic growth in the named
villages by improving traffic flow by enhancing the north-south and east-west routes.
Option B
This proposed option of a new road between junctions 1 in M54 and M6 or M6 Toll at junction
T8, with other alternative routes taking road east or west of Hilton Hall (Highways England,
2019c). The scheme will have a direct link with M6, at junction 11 at the north and junction T8
