depends on the identification of the size and mass of the items before relocating the same and
thereby assigning the suitable vehicle for the activity. The research will be helping to enhance
the planning attributes in an individual before undertaking the activities. The research will be
helping to assess the different risks that might be faced by the organization while undertaking the
prescribed activities. The research will be helping to gain a positive insight of the planning phase
and thereby assess the different risks that might be faced by the organization while operating as
per the needs of the customers. On the other hand, the identification of the regulations that are
imposed by the Government related to the public safety at road, which is an important
consideration for undertaking the smooth functioning of the relocation activity.
1.2 Intent of the study
The intent of undertaking the study is based on assessing the different planning attributes
relating to resource allocation and assessment of different risks that might be considered by the
aforesaid organization while undertaking the relocation activities.
1.3 Key points of investigation
The key investigations that will be undertaken during the research will be based on the
mass of the items that are to be relocated and the manner in which the relocation process is to be
scheduled for fitting into the regulations that are imposed by the government. The research will
be investigating the different aspects of resource that might be required by the organization while
undertaking the relocation activity. On the other hand, the research will be enumerating the

activities and resource allocation, which will be helping the organization in maintaining the

2.1 Introduction
The proper functioning of business organizations are dependent on planning and
considerable identification of the different issues that might be faced by the same while operating
as per the objectives. Resource and task allocation as per the expertise of the different
departments helps management bodies undertaking the assessment of the success factors of the
project. As per the case, Unique Transport Limited is looking forward to undertake relocation of
a four- bedroom house from Unitec building site to Wellford, Northland. The different
considerations that might be undertaken by the organization while operating on the relocation
activity is being enumerated as a part of the research. The different considerations that might be
undertaken by the organization in the planning phase will be helping the enterprise in
undertaking the smooth functioning of the processes.
The report will delve into the planning that might be considered by the management of
the concerned organization while undertaking the relocation activity and the safety regulations
that are imposed by the government for maintaining the safety in public roads. On the other
hand, the report will be enumerating the different financial and operational risks that might be
faced by the organization while undertaking the relocation activity. It will be helping the
organization in enhancing the operations of the same through anticipation and mitigation of the
risks.
2.2 Identifying the suitable vehicle for the task
The choice of the truck is one of the most important factors that affect the relocation
activity that is planned by the businesses. Kerzner and Kerzner (2017) stated that the size and

capacity of the relocation trucks varies with the items that are to be relocated. The concerned
company is looking forward to relocate a four bedroom house from Unitec building site to
Wellford. Therefore, a 26' moving truck will be necessary for undertaking the activity and
thereby maintain the safety of the operations. The power of the truck is one of the major factors
that influence the movement of the vehicle enduring the heavy mass. Nixon, Harrington and
Parker (2012) stated that moving a house is complicated until one finds a way of choosing the
most appropriate vehicle. According to Keith Settle, president of Northwest Structural Moving,
most of the people undertake the home relocation activities in order to avoid construction costs
(Shen & Perry, 2014). The different activities that are planned by the organizational
management prior to the initiation of the relocation activity are based on assessing the weight of
the contents that are to be relocated. The organization assigns a truck, which is capable of
moving the items safely to the desired locations across the regions. The decision that is
undertaken by the management in order to identify the capabilities of the truck for lifting the load
is based on the calculation of the weight of the deliverables. As per the case, the organization
might require a 7.5 ton luton vans with tail lift of 26’ in order to enhance the relocation activity.
The truck will be helping the organization in reducing the risks of tripping over and cracks in the
house while undertaking the relocation activity.

The proper implementation of the project as per the plan will be requiring the active
participation of different stakeholders. The section enumerates the different stakeholders that

expenses that might be incurred by the organization during the activity will be helping the same
in quoting the price for the service to the client (McLeod, Doolin & MacDonell, 2012). On the
other hand, the different cost cutting techniques must be undertaken by the organization through
the identification of the specific areas of expenses. The analysis of the costs will be helping the
organization in identifying the different prospects of the same while operating on the objectives
of the activities. Löfqvist et al., (2013) stated that the budget of organizations helps the same in
identifying and assessing the capabilities of the same and thereby allocate resources as per the
budget parameters while undertaking the project.
The organization will be requiring risk and contingency analyst in order to assess the
risks that might be faced by the same while relocating the house from one place to another. Costa
Santos and Seo . (2016) stated that the risk and contingency analysis helps organizations in
identifying the different hindrances and uncertainties that might be faced by the same while
undertaking the operation. Therefore, the risk and contingency analyst will be helping the

The organization might also consult with a C&D executive in order to identify the
viability of the relocation process of the house from one place to another venue (Stentoft,
Mikkelsen & Jensen, 2016). The propensity and mass of the house are important factors that
affect the relocation activity that is planned by the organization. Therefore, the consultation with
the C&D executive will be helping the organization in maintaining the efficacy of the operations
while undertaking the relocation. It will be helping the organization in creating a contingency
plan for sudden uncertainties that might be faced by the same during the activity. Alexeev and
Anufriev (2018) stated that the consultancy functions that are undertaken by the management

the business in order to provide safe transmission of the house to the desired place. The
expertise of the transportation and logistics executive will be helping the organization in
maintaining the efficacy of the relocation activity.

2.4 Process to be undertaken before initiating the relocation task
The process that will be undertaken by the organization is through the creation of pier-
and-beam foundation. The organization will be utilizing the structural movers slide steel beams
in order to lift the structure of the house from the ground (Serra, & Kunc, 2015). The
organization also utilizes a jackhammer in order to create holes in tunnels to provide support to
the house when the house is constructed on a concrete slab. The utilization of different modern
technologies has helped the organization in enhancing the operations of the same while
considering the needs of the client (Loeppke et al., 2013). The house is raised on heavy jacks and
thereby dollies are contrived under the structure. The beams that supported the house are lowered
to the dollies that are integrated with certain levels of hydraulic suspensions that adjust to the
height of the road. The movement is thereby undertaken in order to ensure that no part of the
house is tampered. The planning that is undertaken by the organization is aimed at ensuring the

The Land Transport Amendment Act 2005 aims at enforcing different policies in order

that drivers in the public roads must not drive vehicles recklessly (Legislation.govt.nz, 2018).

safety of the other passengers while driving in a public road. Moreover, Section 9 of the principle

sections of the Act clearly illuminate the duties of the transporter to maintain the traffic rules and
the manner in which the person might take steps to avoid different road accidents. As per the
case, the Sections 7 (1), 8 and 9 applies to the scenario as the organization aimed at relocating a
house from one place to another destination. The Sections clearly emphasize on the role of the
driver or the transporter in avoiding road accidents and other uncertainties through regulating the
activities that are undertaken by the same. Adherence to the regulations will be helping the
organization in minimizing the chances of road accidents while undertaking the operations. Key
changes in the operations are based on the identification of the different legal constrains that
binds safety and security of the other passengers in a public road. The sections have helped the

operation. However, cost overruns might affect the capability of the organization to
undertake the smooth functioning of the processes through lack of funding. Lack of
proper funding might affect the capabilities of organization to undertake the smooth
functioning of the operation (Zanko & Dawson, 2012). The key elements of change in
the organizational operations are based on the functioning of the same as per the budget
that is framed by the accounts department of the business. Gillespie et al. (2013) stated
that the adherence to budgetary figures helps organizations in enhancing the efficacy of
the functions that are undertaken by the same. Therefore, the concerned company is

while lifting the house might result to the house being tampered or might topple out of
the surface of the truck. The risks that are associated with lifting heavy infrastructural
designs are specifically based on the mass of the structure that might be life threatening.
Risks that might be faced by the organization while undertaking the operations are mostly
based on maintenance of safety in the public roads (Kerzner, 2017).
2.7 Mitigation of financial and other risks

the stakeholders will be helping the organization in maintaining the efficacy of the
standards of the operations.
 Adhering to the project parameters while allocating different tasks- The management of

the project parameters will be helping the business in allocating tasks and time constrains
