This assignment requires a comprehensive analysis of the tourism sector's impacts, drawing insights from various academic sources published between 2010 and 2014. Key aspects to consider include the sector's contribution to economic growth (Ritchie et al., 2010; Surugiu & Surugiu, 2013), energy consumption and CO2 emissions (Wu & Shi, 2011), climate change mitigation efforts (Scott, 2011; Weaver, 2011), and public-private collaboration for effective tourism management (Zapata & Hall, 2012). Additionally, consider the role of technology in transforming travel and tourism (Standing et al., 2014) and how island economies are uniquely affected by these factors (Seetanah, 2011).

INTRODUCTION
Travel and tourism sector is growing with faster rate in present scenario. Various
company are making huge profit through tourism sector in large amount. This affects growth of
economy in country to large extent. This sector in important aspects of contribution in
government funds collected from various taxation and other means from tourism division. After
facing financial crisis in 2008, UK country has shown higher growth in this sector (Moutinho,
2011). People are engaged in spending their salary in leisure time. This industry is focusing upon
increasing quality of service by providing luxurious services to tourist in order to enhance their
satisfaction level.
TUI is the company engaged in delivering its services to tourism industry. This firm is
involved in developing total quality product to customer of venture in order to increase
satisfaction level of consumer which leads to increased loyalty with brand. This assignment deals
with the historical development of tourism sector in UK and analyses various factors that
influence its profitability.

The development of travelling industry has not been large in many other countries. In
many of other countries faces some problems regarding political unstableness that have been
happen to stop the growth of tourism industry. Various countries faces issues and problems
from the political instability. There are various countries which are faces some consequences
for political change:
China
After the death of Mao's, one of the senior officials who had advocated the
private plots in 1960s, Deng Xiaoping, who taken taken gradual market reforms that get rid of
the gathering and the socialistic companies of Mao and then exchange them with the system of
free market. Deng's regenerate broadly for the improvement in the living standard of people of
China and also works on improving the economy of China. From this, China country is one of
the largest developing and economy in all over the world.
From the last few years, tourism industry in China country has been highly expanded.
China is one of the most hottest autowound and most watched tourism sector. This country will
the highest tourist country and there is many tourist came for seeing the wonderful destinations
or attractive places. In this country, the travel and tourism is fastest growing industry.
IRAN
In tourism of Iran, the majority of many tourists to Iran country have been
business people and religious. In this country there are some issues and problems are generating
and disregard to international stress, government of Iran continues the project to establishment
of destination places for large number of visitors and to generate the revenue of tourism. In year
of 2000, travel and tourism sector faced some limitations and problems related top
communication, employees training, infrastructure. In recently, this country earned from this
sector is about US$1bn in a year. So, due to instability in politics, this country faces many
issues and problems.

3.1 Factors affecting tourism demand
Tourism demand means the ability and willingness of visitors to purchasing various
amounts of goods and services related to tourism at different costs during the specific period of
time. There are some internal and external factors which influencing the demand of tourism. In
internal factors includes employees, customers, suppliers.
Employees- They are the main part of a business organisation. They plays important role
in business operations. Employees provide customer service to their customers and tourists. To
increase their skills and knowledge, TUI Group provides training and development programme
to their employees or workers, from this they will provide good and satisfactory services to their
customers (Surugiu and Surugiu, 2013). If company did not provide training then employees will
not serve better to their customers and then they will dissatisfied and switch company and it will
influence on demand.
Customers- Customers plays an important role in business productivity and its operation.
It is the responsibility of company is to provide better quality of products and services to its
customers. If company does not behave properly with customers and tourists will come again
on travel and tourism sector. This business firm, can change in its quality by adopting and by
using the latest technology.
Suppliers- It is a main source to supply raw material. If suppliers will not supply raw
materials on time and on high cost then it will affect on production process and from this
business firm will get late in providing services and goods to its customers (Standing, Tang-Taye
and Boyer, 2014). So, to remove impact it is necessary to choose or to select best supplier who
supply raw materials on proper time and on reasonable price.
There are some external factors which impact on demand of customers. In this factor
includes technological, social, legal etc.
Technological factors- If business enterprise will not adopt the new and advances
technology, it will not improve in production processes and in quality of products. From this
customers will not like their goods and supply will be less (Wu and Shi, 2011). TUI Group adopt
and use new machineries and technology for make changes or modification in existing goods and
make new products.

Social factors- Along with generating profit, it is the responsibility of an organisation is
top give some contribution in social welfare of society and involves people in decision making
process. If company will not coordinate with local people or society people then from this, local
people will give problem to visitors and will not coordinated with them. Then from this tourists
will irritated and it will impact on demand.
Legal- In this factor, government makes some policies, rules and regulations and set
some boundations and company has to work under these all regulations. Government fixed some
tax rates and revenue for a tourism sector.
3.2 Supply has changed to meet the effects of demand
In travel and tourism sector, the supply has changes the meet the impact of demand. To
meet the supply with demand, it is necessary to business firm is top conduct research and then to
determine the supply. There are some components are as given below:
Accommodation- It is the responsibility of company is to provide better accommodation
facilities live like good hotel and clean room (Zapata and Hall, 2012). In this, organisation has to
see the demand of customers and also determine the number of visitors and then supply the
rooms according to their numbers.
Tour operator- The responsibility of tour operator is to provide transportation facilities
like for instance car, bus, van etc. The transportation should be according to number of persons.
Tour operator should be provided good destinations and attractive places for tourists in which
they take interest.
Quality- The supply of goods and services should be in better quality. Company should
be providing good quality services by using advance technology and from this the demand of go
pods will be increased. If this business firm will not supply good quality services then it will
impact on demand and their sales will be less.
Services- Business organisation should provides better and satisfactory customer services
to its customers and tourists. Firstly company should be identify the demand of services and then
after this supply services to visitors (Garín-Muñoz and Pérez-Amaral, 2010). To increase and to
enhances the services, this organisation should be provided training to its workers.
Types of products- Company should be determine the needs and demands of products
and then supply of goods according to the demand of business and its customers. Products
should be available on time and in proper quantity.

4.1 Positive and negative environmental, social and economic impacts
The economic, environmental and social impacts on travel and tourism industry. There
are some positive and some negative affects on tourism.
Economic negative and positive impacts
Positive- Tourism industry helps in generating and introducing the jobs for
employed people of local community and also in retail and transportation sector. When the local
people invest their money or wages on various products or services, then they want to know
about the multiplier effect for introducing more number of jobs. In economic factor, this travel
and tourism sector gives some opportunities to growing for small scale business firms which is
necessary for rural areas, to develops additional tax revenue like for instance taxes of hotels and
airports.
Negative- The successful tourism industry relies on situating infrastructure like
hotels, roads and many tourist centres (Ghimire, 2013). The job which are given to local people
are on seasonal basis and paid low salary to them. The money which are created by tourism
industry does not give benefit to local society.
Environmental positive and negative affect
Positive- The environmental factors help in promoting the natural resources and the
wildlife conservation like rain forest, which is concludes as tourism assets. From this, it will be
easy in developing the finance for improving the marine parks and preservation of animals by
guiding and entrance fees.
Negative- There is a big threats to cultural and natural resources of regions like for
instance to supply water, heritage sites, coral reefs etc. It impacts as to increasing pollution by
vehicles, noise, littering, enhances the sewage manufacturing.
Social negative and positive affect
Positive- It provides some benefits to local society to make the improvements in
amenities and infrastructure (Weaver, 2011). The tourism sector motivated to preserve the
traditional and old customs, rituals and festivals. Culture means the morals, customs, values,
rules and regulations which are made by local people.

Negative- The behaviour of tourists are impact on quality of life or local community. If
their behaviour is not good then it will impacts. To communication with visitors can lead to
erosion of values, norms and culture.
4.2 Strategies that can be used to reduce negative impacts
To reduce or to minimize the negative affects and to increase the positive impacts, TUI
Group makes some strategies and policies regarding this. There are some strategies:
Quality products and services- To minimize negative impacts, company should be
provide good quality standard of products or services at reasonable price and from which
customers will get attracted.
Technology- To make changes or to improvement in product and in manufacturing
process, it is necessary to adopt new and advanced technology (Ramayah, Lee and In, 2011).
From this, they will produce quality products and to give their services on proper time.
Technology helps in reducing cost and time.
Customer grievance- If there is any problem customers regarding any issues and problem
to them, then in hotel there should be a grievance cell and in this mangers try to solve their
problems and then give assurance to them about good customer services.
Provide training to employees- It is necessary to provide training and development
programme to their existing employees and also to newly appointed candidates. The training can
be related to new technology and new machineries. With the help of this their skills, knowledge
and abilities will be improves and also increased and from this they will provide good customer
services to visitors or customers.
CONCLUSION
It is concluded from the above report that TUI Group is largest organisation in travel and
tourism sector. It provides good quality and cytometer services to its customers. Tourism
industry is one of the most fastest developing industry in all over the world. There are some key
historical developments and structure of travel sector. In this report, studied about the functions
of government, international agencies and some sponsored bodies. On the success of tourism
industry there are some economic and local impacts. Due to political instability in various
countries there are some implications in travel and tourism industry. In this present report,
studied about the negative and positive of social, economic and environmental impact on this

travel sector. This abusiveness firm use some policies and strategies to reducing negative impacts
and creating positive impacts.
