Abstract
Cryptocurrency is a medium of exchange that utilizes the key features of the
cryptographic method in order to protect data from hackers. Cybercrime is
a security threat that uses computing servers and networks for accessing
private details of the consumers. In this generation, the rates of botnet
miners are growing quickly due to their potential to provide the login
credentials of the consumer’s systems. This paper focuses on the botnet
miners along with their working operations and highlights mitigation
techniques. It is found that botnet miners utilize malicious programs and
force attacks for providing remote access to the consumer's devices.
Therefore, it is significant to focus on the privacy of data and companies
should manage botnet miners by implementing security policies and
strategies. The companies should maintain browser extensions and provide
complete training to the employees in order to manage fraud signals and
unwanted networks.

Introduction
Cryptocurrency is defined as an internet-based medium of exchange that
utilizes the key features of cryptographic technology in order to conduct
financial transactions. It is a digital asset that mainly developed and
implemented to perform money exchange operations effectively. In this
generation, the involvement of cryptocurrency is enhancing rapidly and
hackers collect money in the form of cryptocurrency from the victims
(Bertino, and Islam, 2017). Cyber-crime is a type of security risk that has
the potential to block computing devices and gather reliable information
from the systems. In the case of cyber-crime, the criminals use computing
networks and devices for performing hacking activities and obtaining
sensitive data. The purpose of the paper is to determine the concept of
cryptocurrency and cyber-crime and review the working operation of bitcoin
botnet- miners. There are various sections will be included in the paper
such as botnet miners, working of botnet miners, mitigation techniques,
discussion, and conclusion.
Botnet miners
Botnet miners are capable to perform malware activities in the computing
devices where the hackers transfer unwanted signals to the victims. In this
generation, miner botnet is a common bitcoin miner that uses the crypto-
currency mining botnets in order to perform hacking activities. The
Smominru type of miner botnet was developed in 2017 that had effectively
mined almost 9,000 tokens worth $3.6 million in 2018. Bicknell and Krebs,
(2019) stated that miner botnet is the major hacking attack faced by the
companies where the criminals transferred the botnet activities to the
consumers and accessed the private data in less time.

526,000 infested Windows hosts in which the majority of the hosts are
