Introduction
This presentation is based on a case study and this case is
referred as CRN: D7175355 This case is determine the robbery
and also assaults to the intention to rob. On the basis of the
allegation CRN : D7175355 was contained 42 months custody
because of the robbery cases like robbed mobile phone of £700
cost and then robbed victim bag and also robbed another mobile
phone. Victim called the police and dialed 999 numbers to arrest
the robber for the offence of the robbery case.

 This model mainly proposed by the Prochaska and DiClensnte
in the year 1983, this is considered as the integrative and
biopsychosocial model which can useful to conceptualize the
entire process related with intentional behavior of change.
TTM model mainly integrated with key constructs from the
theories like comprehensive theory related with change which
can be implemented on variety of the behaviors, settings and
also population.

 precontemplation - This is considered as the first step of this
model which depicts that people are not show their concern to
take appropriate actions about the change. In this stage,
multiple and unsuccessful attempts of change situation can

 Contemplation - After the precontemplation stage, people
become aware about the need of behavior change. In this stage,
people are intended about the change in context of next 6 months.

changing can effectively profound the ambivalence that is
considered as the specific cause because people remain in this
phase for longer time period.

modifications in the lifestyle and also demonstrate the
effective working to prevent the relapse. It is determined that
individuals do not follow change process as frequently as
individuals in the actions. In this stage, individuals are less
tempted about the relapse & develop increasingly I level of
confident which can help full to continue their changes.

 Termination - This is considered as the last stage in which
individuals become failure to intend the behavioral change

 The main reason to choose this model is that as a probation
officer, I have experience about such as robbery cases and in
all the cases I have analysed that there is something reason or
circumstances which lead this kind of robbery like lack of
knowledge, lack of money , lack of proper education and
many other. Every person have contain different prospective
and the motive behind the robbery is change as per the person
or situation.

 On the basis of my experience as a probation officer, I have
ideology that if I can change the attitude and behavior of the
offender so it can helpful to change their mindset about the
robbery or any kind of offences. After the arrest of the CRN:
D7175355 I have generalized that there are various
criminological factors which determined the situation of
offender and then I did some investigation about the offender
and perceived that offender is not well educated and he is not
even know how to read and write properly.

 Because of adverse circumstances, offender committed this kind
of crimes and robbery. Offender is not very e familiar with the
techniques of robbery and he did not contain any kind of
techniques and skills which help him to commit the robbery in
an appropriate way. The behavior and the thinking of the
offender determined that he don't have specific knowledge like
how to take decision because he did the same mistakes on a
repeatedly and offender have poor consequential thinking skills,
lack of problem solving skills, No escape the consequences.

All these factors created a huge risk for him and he eventually
arrested by me. As a working in the probation officer, I have a
responsibility to understand the whole scenario and take decision
according to the circumstances of the offender and then as per my
experiences, I have decided to apply Trans-Theoretical Model of
Intentional Behavior Change (TTM) because I have analysed that if
I can change the behavior of the offender then he will aware about
what is beneficial for him and when he will not commit robbery
again.

 TTM model is incorporated with six stages which can help full to
modify the behavior change of the individual so that people can
effectively accept the change. This transtheoretical model is based on
the behavior change and considered as the integrated theory which
includes specific therapies which improve the individual readiness in
order to perform a new healthier behavior. As a probation officer , I
have a responsibility to improve the behavior change in the offender so
that I have prepared specific Strategies and proper guidelines which
can provide direction to the offender in order to opt the behavior
change.

 There are various steps are involved which I focused more like
stages of changes, effective process of change, level of change,
self efficacy and also decisional balance. With the help of all the
stages, I can appropriately use this model as an strength in order
to modify the behavior changes of the offender. This model
determined specific phases in which offender can improve their
process of behavioral change step by step. In precontemplation
stage, offender I was not ready to accept the behavior change
because he was not aware about the change benefit.

 What worked well?
As per my experiences of probation officer, I have analysed that ,
offender need to change their behavior so that he can effectively
change the prospective and work hard to get the employments in
the future. At the initial level, model process went well because
offender became ready to accept the change and also
demonstrated their concern to prepare a plan for behavior change.
During the preparation, everything was gone well in a structured
form.

 What did not work well?
After the preparation stages , I have analysed that offender was ready
to follow specific guidelines in order to maintain their preparation for
behavioral change but off under found various difficulties which
affected their decision about the modification for intended behavioral
change. Offender did not accept the change easily because of specific
risk factors which created various problems. Some risk factors like
drug and alcohol, lack of thinking skills, maturity pack. In order to
deal with of all the factors, there is a requirement to proceed at his
intervention and treatment.

to your case?
 How has this learning informed your practice, moving forward?
 On the basis of specific enquiry and investigation about this case
CRN: D7175355 , I have determined that the situation of the
offender is different because he needed Redbridge home treatment
which can help to resolve their health issues. As a experience of
Probation office, I have found that offender was experiencing
mental health issues he needed proper medications because he
diagnosed with the split personality disorder.

 As a post of probation officer, I have lots of experience and I
have always want to learn something new so that I can easily e
apply that knowledge in my working in order to encourage the
practices. On the basis of this case, CRN: D7175355 , I have
determined that offender need motivation in order to modify
their behavioral change. During the investigation phase of this
case, I felt motivated because I decided to change the behavior
of the offender so that he will not commit the robbery again.

What skills did you use in working with this core process
 In context of this case CRN: D7175355, i have utilized
various skills which helped me lot to tackle the situation. As a
probation officer I have also contain some specific skills like
critical problem solving skills, analytical skill, decision
making skills and also time management skills, situational
analysis skill.

Conclusion
According to this presentation, it can be concluded that it is
necessary to adopt specific model in order to change the
behavior of the individual. This report is discussed a case of
robbery and also determine the whole situation of the offender.
On the basis of offender situation, probation officer decided to
use Trans-Theoretical Model of Intentional Behavior Change
(TTM) model which can useful to modify the behavioral
change in the individual.
