This assignment compares the healthcare systems of Trinidad and the United States, analyzing factors like obesity rates, healthcare spending, and mortality rates to understand the strengths and weaknesses of each system.

In context of Trinidad, they operates with Two Tier Healthcare systems in which
government provide basic medical facilities to people and secondary care of tier exists for those
who pay extra money for better quality and faster access of services (Sommers, Gawande and
Baicker, 2017). However, 36.2% of adults are obese whereas 18.6& people are obese in
Trinidad. Moreover, United States has 39.6% of top tax rate and 25.5& in Trinidad. By analysing
political, cultural, wealth, history and environmental factors of Trinidad, it is determine that
people will die 7.27 years sooner and elderly individuals be 46.77% less likely to be unemployed
and make 61.55% less money as compared to U.S. In US, around 14.0 women per 1000 births
die during childbirth whereas 63.0 females do same on Trinidad.
The 5.8 children die before reaching age of 1 year in US and 22.3 kids do same in
Trinidad. Disease management in not appropriate in Trinidad as they spend 89.08% less money
on health care as compared to US as people in Trinidad be 207 times more likely to have
HIV/AIDS (RILEY and et. al., 2017). Trinidad focus on theories of underdevelopment,
development and colonialism to use their important concepts to develop effective healthcare
policies health promotion. In United States, health belief theory and social cognitive theory is
used to conduct health promotion practices. In Trinidad, food habits and styles consist choices
like Indian food like flatbread, vegetables and chicken with commercial life of importing and
exporting which impact on their health.
In context of United States, the fast lifestyle of people include regular intake of smoke,
alcohol and fast food with less sleep and rest which impacts negatively on their health. The US
healthcare systems is a hybrid systems with multi-payer universal health insurance fund in order
to provide health insurance, healthcare insurance plans, Medicare, Medicaid, veterinary care and
military care to overall population. Two Tier Healthcare system in Trinidad provide basic care
and provide better quality through additional paid money by capable people. Healthcare systems
of both countries are working to promote health and improving well-being of citizens (Shelton
and Schellin, 2016).
