Introduction
United Kingdom has one of the largest market of e-commerce in the world. Online
retailing has got huge positive response in United Kingdom in last couple of years. The
demand for online shopping is increasing at a rapid pace in United Kingdom. Online retailing
can be double than its present share within next few years. Click Retail is one of the online
retailing websites in UK. The company of Click Retail has decided to improve the layout of
the online store for meeting the needs of customers. Displaying the design of the digital store
is the main concern of this project that can be developed using designing UX, theory and
implementation skills. The execution of full cycle of UX analysis and design can be done
with the use of Jesse James Garratt’s Methodology for designing digital products. An ideal
strategic plan is required before commencing with any kind of development in the project.
The user’s requirements are prioritized here. Understanding and fulfilling the user’s
requirements are very important in a website. To give the customers with high quality
services, the site of Click Retail can be divided into two segments: user requirements and
business objectives according to Jesse James Garrett.

These are the minimum requirements for successfully running a website. Hence, a
software developing company named ExSoft Ltd needs to develop the site including these
features where customers can be provided with high quality service. A research work is done
by analysing the needs of a customer. Three dimensional patterns can be used for designing
the website.
Satisfying the customer needs is very important in this business. For that, the
requirements of customers need to be understood. User profiles can be created for better
understanding of the requirements of a customer. For fulfilling the needs of customers,
innovation ideas can be used for developing the site in a batter way. The existing technology
should be modified to provide better experience and service to the user. Innovative
technologies can be used for giving better services to the customers. Behavioural intuition
can be achieved by user’s each and every input. Customer feedback can be obtained by other
departments of the company. The behavioural, demographic and transactional data are
merged together by the technology and the system to develop the persona of the user.

The strategy plane determines the strategy which will be used for designing the
website. This plane defines the business objectives and user needs. Research work is done for
gathering information by interviewing customers, employees within the organization which
can be helpful for planning the design of the website.

Strategy plane in an essential layer in creating a website as the customer’s
requirements are to be fulfilled. Similar strategic concerns can be observed in both
information space and software products. The website must be created to satisfy the users by

providing what they are looking for. Before planning the strategy plane, the customer
requirements need to be clear. Production can be increased with the strategy of UX and there
is also reduction in the risk of product development. The initial thing for UX designing is the
research work as it is essential to know what the customers are looking for and how it can be
matched with other objectives that are also required.
The design of website should be user friendly, so customers find it easy to access the
website without any difficulty. A webpage can be created for each product in the site. It
makes the customer an option for viewing different products in a short period of time.
Research on data-driven creates the strategy design properly and a clear idea for designing
the sire can be given. Two kind of research methods are used namely qualitative method and
quantitative method. User profiles are composed to build user flows, user stories and
scenarios. The requirements of different users are highlighted in the user stories. These user
stories may change for different users as the requirements of every customer cannot be same.
The user stories formed then elaborate the scenarios. Finally, as per these scenarios and
stories, a user flow is composed. New innovative ideas can be applied only after having
overall idea about the product. Wireframes can be created using these ideas. Several
functionalities can be added by creating prototypes. Visual design is done with the pattern
library or style guide of UX. It is also essential to test the product. A/B testing is done on the
products as well as polls where honest reviews are made by the users.

what the customer is looking for. The website should provide the requirements of a customer.
It is important to keep in mind about the customer needs while planning the strategy plane.
