A) INTRODUCTION
Waste management play a crucial role in ensuring global cleanliness and help increase
sustainability. Waste management includes gathering, transfer, disposition and recycling various
waste materials. This increases hygiene and sustainability in the society. This research is
conducted to understand waste management theory. This research the uncovers British waste
export and waste prevention techniques. The impact of waste management from an
environmental perspective on UK and other countries is addressed in this research.

The main aim of this research is to analyse waste management and prevention in UK and it's
environmental impact on UK and other countries.
Literature Review
Theme 1: Idea of waste management theory
According to Rogers, 2017, protection motivation theory is an assumption in which it is
an individual decision to participate in the risk preventative behaviour that is to protect
themselves from threats such as natural disaster, climate change and nuclear explosion. People
make certain decisions to protect from different threats in which they try to balance risks and
potential benefits. These decisions taken are based on the output of threat and coping appraisal.
Threat appraisal is a cognitive process where people assumes the level of threat that could harm
them and it includes two elements where there is assessment of the perceived severity and
perceived probability of the receiving impact from the threat.
Theme 2: Waste hierarchy in UK
According to Katia Ferrari, 2016, waste management in UK is done by the waste
hierarchy which has an aim to protect the environment and health of all the individuals. It is a
five step waste management hierarchy listing in order of priority from the most favourable to
least favourable such as prevention, preparation for reuse, recycling, recovery and disposal.
Prevention is a practice such as using less materials to design and product the goods that leads to
longer run of the products. Preparation of reuse is giving the product a new life before they
become waste for them. This involves practices such as refurbishing that allows the products for
having a new life with its features. Third is recycling which includes the waste products are
