and most honour it. UCP 600 provides a better opportunity to exporter in cases, where a
discrepancy in documents arises and a better opportunity is given to remain in the arrangement
of letter of credit.
Conclusion: The principle of autonomy is provided under article 4 of UCP 600, which limit the
obligation of issuing bank up to payment to seller. The bank has nothing to do with underlying
trisection/ contracts. The main legal issue faced under letter of credit arrangement is fraud
execution. Article 7, 12, 14 and 16 provides solution to these legal problems.
The solution given under UCP 600 are satisfactory unto a limit only as this provide a
good solution for discrepancy in documents but there is no solution for detection of fraudulent
activities determination of bankruptcy and insolvency.
