1UNCC 100 I think doing common good is one of the most important responsibilities in the lives of the human beings. For this reason only, human beings were sent to earth by God. One of the most important aspects in this aspect is to secure the common good of the people in the society as well as the responsibility of the human beings is to secure the safety of the people. The profession I have chosen for this paper is the nursing profession. In this profession, I think everyone needs to be very cautious and respectful to the nurses as they do their duties quite wonderfully. I think it is indeed extremely important to motivate the junior staffs and the patients since the patients are the primary responsibility of the nurses. I suppose the patients who are suffering from severe illnesses need more mental strength and support. It is the duty of the nurses to provide the mental strength and the senior nurses should take up the responsibility. The lack of leadership qualities will ruin the integrity of the profession. I think they need to show more responsibility senses in this course. The hospitals will not be able to provide their premium care if the senior nurses do not perform according to their ethics. It is of dire need to show professional attitude to their work when they are on the floor. I have some firsthand experience of seeing the nurses behave badly towards the patients as they were suffering from overwork pressure. The interpersonal leadership quality is reflected in this matter because the nurses have to communicate with the patients, doctors and the families of the patients as well. I had been admitted in a hospital for an operation a few years ago
2UNCC 100 and I had seen a senior nurse was behaving very rudely with the patients’ families. This will be very effective for the hospital as their reputation will be ruined by this malpractice of bad behavior of the nurses and other medical staffs. I feel the dignity of the person is quite hampered when we see these people not performing their jobs according to their ethics. The ethics of nursing are very important for the professional practitioners of nursing. I know that the number of nurses in the modern times is not quite high enough to cope up with the increasing number of patients and therefore, the ratio between the patients and nurses is quite alarming. This is why the nurses have to take so much pressure in the working hours. This over workload makes them weary and they cannot act properly. However, the common good of the patients should never be compromised. These incidents make the dignity of the nurses crumple down and their interpersonal leadership skills and communication skills is badly affected. Many times I have seen that the medical practitioners put up a very bad show in front of the common public since this has been very problematic for them. I suppose the nurses should focus on their duties and responsibilities properly so that the common good can be done to the society. This is a case of shared responsibility because I think the nurses should be dutiful and this would be very helpful for them to fulfill their duties. The fact of human dignity should be the first priority for the nurses at the time they are performing their duties. I think the nurses should be very much careful all the time and they should provide the medicines and injections to the patients every time with utmost care. It is also their responsibility to keep the hospitals safe and sterile all the time. This is the very reason I think the nurses are engaged in the common good for all the people in the society. I would rather suggest the hospitals to
3UNCC 100 introduce new courses to the girls of the modern society. The Australian federal government should be looking to introduce new training programs for the nurses and see if the infrastructure can be developed in any way. This is how the nursing profession can be made attractive to the girls. I think the nurses should always respect the human beings of all sectors and provide them with the proper care for which they came to this profession only.
