million of their film’s resources annually in knowledge development, learning, and capability
building. They study markets, trends, and emerging best practices, in every industry and
region, locally and globally. From the C-suite to the front line, they partner with their clients
to transform their organisations, embed technology into everything they do, and build
enduring capabilities.
You are the senior business analyst of a McKinsey & Company. The consultancy corporation
has a large range of clients globally major in various products and services, in view of the
business drop in 2019 – 2020 due to COVID-19, your corporation looking into the ways to
have the business success.
You, as the senior business analyst have to provide a report which investigate and define
business environmental analysis.
Provide a report of the following according to the above scenario:
Activities Activity 1 – Demonstrate both the positive and negative influence/impact the macro
environment has on business operations: (LO3– P4)
COVID-19 brings heavy drop in business particular. Your client – Lee in charge of research
and development department after business restricting. However, he was not experienced in
entrepreneurship and lacked management skills. As a senior business analyst, you are asked
to explain implication of wider external environments influence.
I. As the first part of your report you need to identify both the positive and negative
influence/impact the macro environment has on business operations.The following topics
should be included.

1. The application of the PESTLE framework and how organisations need to monitor and
forecast external influences.
2. How the macro environment influences/impacts upon business activities: the impact of the
digital revolution on production and consumption; the impact of social technologies;
cybersecurity; emerging BRICS markets, the global shift in economic and social power and
ethical and sustainable growth.
3. How organisations go through the transformation process and overcome resistance to
change in response to the changing market environment.
Activity2 – Determine the internal strengths and weaknesses of specific businesses
and explain their interrelationship with external macro factors: (LO4 – P5 and P6)
II. Frameworks for analysis.
1. Introduction to SWOT and/or TOWS analysis and how they can assist in the decision-
making process within organisations.

intervention that influence organisations and business.
