INTRODUCTIONAim and objectivesThe aim of present research is “To understand hyperglycemia as a trigger ofatherosclerosis in patient with Coronary artery disease in Qatar.”Following objectives can be framed based upon the above aim:To understand the concept of hyperglycemia. To assess the impact of hyperglycemia on patients with coronary artery disease in Qatar. To understand prevalence of coronary artery disease in Qatar. To ascertain hyperglycemia as a trigger of atherosclerosis in patient with Coronary artery diseasein Qatar.Significance of researchIt has been ascertained that there is a higher prevalence of coronary artery disease in Qatar.About 17.03%n of the total death happens to take place due to heart diseases in Qatar every year. There are various factors due to which Americans tend to have higher possibility for heartdisease. Medical conditions such as, diabetes, overweight and obesity. However, certain lifestyleconditions are, poor diet, physically inactive and consumption of excessive alcohol. There is adirect contribution has been found of hyperglycemia in plague formation. A straight impact hasbeen found of hyperglycemia affecting endothelial cell biology which ultimately promote plagueformation (2). The situation of plague deposition in the artery is known as, atherosclerosis. Thereare ample of studies present where, researchers have found that there is adequate amount ofimpact of diabetes, that is, hyperglycaemic state, on prevalence of cardiovascular disease inpatients. It can be in the form of atherosclerosis in the patients.Hence, the present study will help in giving adequate amount of knowledge regardingimpact of hyperglycaemic state on the patients with the prevalence of coronary artery disease. The research will prove to be significant enough to understand different aspects ofhyperglycaemic state and ascertain its impact on the patients dwelling with the situation in Qatar. Background of researchCoronary artery disease is considered to be the most common heart disease. It leads toreduction in the blood flow and oxygen to the muscles of the heart (3). It restricts heart fromperforming its common functions. It takes place due to deposition of plague inside the arterieswhich results in its narrowing down. This state is called as atherosclerosis. The Action on3

Diabetes Report which is a periodic publication of the country regarding diabetes stated thatthere is an estimation of 16% of the total population of Qatar belonging to all ages, have beendiagnosed diabetes in 2014 (4). There is an increase in its prevalence with the growing age. Thecommon risk factors that were found are, smoking, overweight and obesity, physical inactivity, high blood pressure, High Cholesterol or hyperlipidaemia state and hyperglycemia. Cardiovascular Diseases (CVD) is considered to be the principal cause of high mortality anddisability in gulf countries. Mortality due to CVD in 2011-2013 was approximately 8.3% per100,000 for the males of Qatar. Unhealthy living behaviour have negative impact on itsoccurrence. However, a stronger impact of family history has also been found on people inQatar. Hence, the present research deals in understanding hyperglycemia as a trigger ofatherosclerosis in patient with Coronary artery disease in Qatar.PRELIMINARY DATA Concept of hyperglycemiaAccording to Paneni (11), hyperglycemia is a state where excessive amount of glucose tendsto circulate in plasma of blood. The normal range for level of sugar is 11.1 mmol/l but the patientis able to feel its symptom when the level of glucose reaches to 15 or 20 mmol/l. It depends uponthe renal threshold and overall tolerance of the glucose which help in ascertaining that too whatextent a person is hypoglycemic. It can lead to the organ damage in the patients as well. There isa great deal of change in blood glucose level as and when the individual starts to attain treatmentand control intake of sugar and gluten in daily style. Presence of temporary hypoglycemiccondition is often benign and asymptomatic. The rate of hyperglycemia can change as per someconditions of the body. Hyperglycemia can be classified in various types such as temporary, permanent etc. Usually the temporary one is asymptomatic. Various symptoms help inrecognizing that a person is suffering from hyperglycemia such as the person feels hunger to ahuge extent. It is because when the level of blood sugar decreases in the body of a person, then, the person starts feeling acute hunger. Also, the person when feel much more thirsty that themouth is getting dry, in that cases also, it acts as a symptom for causing hyperglycemia. It alsoincludes the situation when the person goes to pee more than often and loses the ability to havecontrol over it. This is also considered as one of the most basic symptom that gives an idea of thediseases. Other signs and symptoms include excess weight loss, vision of the person also startsgetting blurred and unclear. So, these can be considered as some symptoms of the diseases that4
