Core skill
Written communication is a skill which involves any kind of message by making the use of
written word. It is the process of conveying a message to sender through written symbols or
signs (Penrod, Tucker and Hartman, 2017). It simply means sending orders, instructions,
messages in writing through letters, manuals, reports, office memos, circulars, etc. Written
communication is the formal method of communication but is less flexible.
Importance of communication skills.
Written Communication skill is important as it helps me in understanding and communicating
with others. A person able to send message is perhaps the most important skill and being an
effective recipient of message is also an important written communication skills. It is the skill
which is been valued and it benefits in all the aspects of life from professional level to the social
level. Effective communication skill helps to pass information to others and also helps us to
understand the message in a way it is meant to be understood (Armitage and et.al., 2018). This
skills can help an in developing a professional career if an individual is applying for the job or
even he or she is looking for the promotion. A good written communication skill can also help
in improving personal relationships as with the help of this skill it helps us to understand others
and to be understood.
Reflection on current competence
On reviewing my own strengths and weaknesses I came to know that, I am able to write
messages effectively with others, this types of communication skills is really important for my
life in order to grow professionally and personally. I have been continuously working to
improve my written communication skills as it was challenging task for me and I was able to
develop this skill in me. I used to send message, letters, memos, circulars in effective way so
this skill is present in me.
Feedback: I have taken feedback from my group members and they replied that I can read and
write the message effectively and they also believe that my written communication skills are
best. They also replied that I use the appropriate content which is necessary for sending a
message or information. I also got feedback from my a tutor and my tutor replied that my

is perfect for the written communication.

I did not find any contradictions for the above discussion as my peers and friends replied with
the same comment that is I have good communication skill. My peers and tutor both believed
that I use the proper content and present my written messages in an attractive and effective.
They also think that my written communication skills posses all the characteristics which
should be present in written communication. But my tutor also replied that there are certain
things which can be improved in the future.
Skills required for the future development
As many things keep on changing and evolving which are been introduced in the language, so I
have to keep on increasing my knowledge and also keep on updating my written
communication skills. I want make innovations and want to further improve my communication
skills which will help me in the future.

Teamwork may be defined as the cooperation between those who are working on a
particular task and it is generally understood as the willingness of a group to work together in
order to achieve the common aim (Ellis, 2018). In teamwork people involved in a particular
task or a job try to cooperate towards the common goal by using individual skills and
knowledge despite any conflict within the team.
Importance of core skill
Teamwork is important for the success of any kind of a job, an individual to have a meaningful
and long career he or she has to work with others so this is the reason teamwork is really
important. A good teamwork creates synergy in which the combined effect of a team is always
greater than any individual effort. Teamwork helps in building and increasing collaboration and
also allows brain storming (Hurrell, 2016). Working in team results in inflow of more ideas
which help in incensing the level of productivity. Working in a team creates a sense of unity

and enthusiasm as people work for the common interest and responsibilities. Team work fosters

and it also speeds up the work while working in team.
Reflection on Current competence
Reviewing my strengths and weaknesses I realised that I work as an effective team member as I
am able to deliver my 100% to my team. There is always an equal participation from my side
while working in a team. I posses the qualities and skills of a team, how a team member have to
work in a team. I am able to set a proper collaboration with other team members and I am
supportive and helpful to others if somebody in a team needs my help. I have also been able to
share my ideas and opinions which has helped my team to get the work done which has
increased the productivity of my team. I have also been able develop strong work relationship
with my team members which has developed a strong bond and trust within a team.
Feedback: I got the feedback from colleagues that I have also worked as a team member and
possessed the skills of an effective team member. My team members said that I have always
been a valuable team member and used to make effective communication within the team which
creates less confusion and also they believe that I am reliable person in a team. I also got
feedback from superiors and they said that I have the qualities of a team member and my
performance as a team member is good and I have always made equal contribution towards a
team.

Again I did not find any contradictions between by skill and the reviews from others, I have the
same skills of a team member which is viewed by my team members and my superiors. As they
believed that I am a good team member and I respect the feelings of others and able to
communicate effectively within a team which has increased the productivity of my team.

As working as team is essential for any employee in an organisation, I need to further develop
my skills as team members which will prove beneficial for me in the future, I have to develop a

Conflict resolution is the way finding peaceful solution for the disagreement among two or
more parties involved in a conflict. The disagreements may be personal or professional or
emotional (Moreno, 2017). Conflict resolution is an art and is important for the growth of an
individual. Whenever any dispute arises, the best course of resolving a conflict is negotiation
and for this purpose it requires conflict resolution skills.

Conflict resolution skills plays an important role everywhere within the work place as conflict is
common and inevitable part of life so with the help of this skill an individual can minimise the
conflicts whenever it occurs. It is important to have conflict resolution skills as with the help of
this skill, a person can smoothly function in an organisation and can help in building
relationships and can lead to achievement of a goal and also enhances commitment
(Garaigordobil and Martínez-Valderrey, 2015). If, a person is working with others there is
always a chance of arising conflicts as every person don't get along and agree with the facts all
the time so this is the skill which can be help for an individual when he or she is faced with
conflict situations.

On reviewing my own strengths and weaknesses, I came to know that I don't possess conflict

important for a person in every aspect of life this will help in grasping future opportunities.

From the above reflection, I came to know that there are some strengths and weaknesses
in me, my strengths will help me in achieving opportunities in future which may prove important
me and the weaknesses I possess I need to work on them and need to develop a plan in order to
overcome my weaknesses.
