REFLECTIVE JOURNAL ENTRYPRO-FORMA 1Core skillWritten communication is a skill which involves any kind of message by making the use ofwritten word. It is the process of conveying a message to sender through written symbols orsigns (Penrod, Tucker and Hartman, 2017). It simply means sending orders, instructions,messages in writing through letters, manuals, reports, office memos, circulars, etc. Writtencommunication is the formal method of communication but is less flexible. Importance of communication skills.Written Communication skill is important as it helps me in understanding and communicatingwith others. A person able to send message is perhaps the most important skill and being aneffective recipient of message is also an important written communication skills. It is the skillwhich is been valued and it benefits in all the aspects of life from professional level to the sociallevel. Effective communication skill helps to pass information to others and also helps us tounderstand the message in a way it is meant to be understood (Armitage and et.al., 2018). Thisskills can help an in developing a professional career if an individual is applying for the job oreven he or she is looking for the promotion. A good written communication skill can also helpin improving personal relationships as with the help of this skill it helps us to understand othersand to be understood. Reflection on current competenceOn reviewing my own strengths and weaknesses I came to know that, I am able to writemessages effectively with others, this types of communication skills is really important for mylife in order to grow professionally and personally. I have been continuously working toimprove my written communication skills as it was challenging task for me and I was able todevelop this skill in me. I used to send message, letters, memos, circulars in effective way sothis skill is present in me.Feedback: I have taken feedback from my group members and they replied that I can read andwrite the message effectively and they also believe that my written communication skills arebest. They also replied that I use the appropriate content which is necessary for sending amessage or information. I also got feedback from my a tutor and my tutor replied that mywritten communications skills are good, the way of presentation, grammar and the content I use1

is perfect for the written communication.Identification of contradictions from above discussionI did not find any contradictions for the above discussion as my peers and friends replied withthe same comment that is I have good communication skill. My peers and tutor both believedthat I use the proper content and present my written messages in an attractive and effective.They also think that my written communication skills posses all the characteristics whichshould be present in written communication. But my tutor also replied that there are certainthings which can be improved in the future. Skills required for the future developmentAs many things keep on changing and evolving which are been introduced in the language, so Ihave to keep on increasing my knowledge and also keep on updating my writtencommunication skills. I want make innovations and want to further improve my communicationskills which will help me in the future. REFLECTIVE JOURNAL ENTRY PRO-FORMA 2Core skillTeamwork may be defined as the cooperation between those who are working on aparticular task and it is generally understood as the willingness of a group to work together inorder to achieve the common aim (Ellis, 2018). In teamwork people involved in a particulartask or a job try to cooperate towards the common goal by using individual skills andknowledge despite any conflict within the team. Importance of core skillTeamwork is important for the success of any kind of a job, an individual to have a meaningfuland long career he or she has to work with others so this is the reason teamwork is reallyimportant. A good teamwork creates synergy in which the combined effect of a team is alwaysgreater than any individual effort. Teamwork helps in building and increasing collaboration andalso allows brain storming (Hurrell, 2016). Working in team results in inflow of more ideaswhich help in incensing the level of productivity. Working in a team creates a sense of unityand enthusiasm as people work for the common interest and responsibilities.
