Self development is the procedure of evolving and improving abilities, maturing of
attitudes and enhancement of knowledge. The level a person to understands self, reflects his
ability to understand others as it is more crucial to to accept our flaws and know our strength. For
a manger it is of vital importance in order to be an effective and efficient leader and to inspire
and encourage its workforce to attain their personal and professional objectives. Thus, it
becomes important for a manger to understand their key areas of strength so that they can be a
role model for their teams to be get influenced with. Also, it is equally significant for them to
have knowledge about their weaknesses as well ways in order to overcome them. This project
will explain the core and interpersonal skills that are requisite for me to achieve success in my
career. Also it will analyse various tools and techniques that could be adopted by me for
improving areas of my lacking and further enhancing my key strengths and capabilities.

individual to handle or spent time on a particular activity as per own will.

Time management is of utmost importance at workplace as it assists in making a choice in

in my professional life but also to have a positive impact on my personal lifestyle. The
reason for choosing this skill for reflection is because through effective time management I
can successfully maintain balance between my personal and professional life by opting for
finishing priority works before deadlines. Mentioned below are certain key significance of
time management:
Helps in listing task and priorities: Time management skill of mine helps me to
systematically planning out course of action to be taken for my assigned tasks. By
segregating and arranging my high priority activities that are of utmost importance to be
completed within deadlines over those which can be delayed. This help me to avoid getting
overburdened and to complete my work exactly on time. For critical tasks that are likeable
to consume my major time I get started with them on earlier basis and tries to work towards
complementing them without taking much breaks in between or getting distracted.
Avoid Distractions: Although there are various distractions during working hours like
emails, funny messages, cross talks between my colleagues and me which do hamper my
work productivity and distracts my concentration in work. However being a time bound
person I like to be complete my assigned tasks within specific time period therefore I get
minimum indulge in these conversations. Time management skills of mine helps me to
remain focused on my to do list tasks thus reducing me from getting stressed up and

How might this skill helpful in future
To overcome this weakness I am learning to be more authoritative. Although I still motivates
and encourage my team members however now I am working on giving them deadlines to
complete tasks before specific time period. This in my opinion will make them more serious
about completing their work and even delay in meeting my deadlines will give chance them
chance to still complete task within desirable time limits (Cozolino, 2014).

Summary
For an individual it is of critical significance to improve their quality approach and personal
skills that help them to be proficient and develop competency in this competitive business
environment (Van Dijk and et. al., 2011). Mentioned below are my key strength and weakness:

put unified efforts towards one goal. Also, my problem solving skills are good and equally
impactable however there is still scope for me to improve in this aspect.

Criteria of success: I will consider myself proficient in this skill when I start completing
my assigned work before deadlines.
Written Communication:
Objective: To enhance my written communication skills.
Resources: For developing my writing skills along I will participate in various online
and offline learning and writing programs. Also I will grab any opportunity to write for
any magazine, blog, company etc. This will surely help me to improve my ability to
express my ideas, thoughts and opinions.
Time Frame: As I am already good in written communication it will require me around
3 months to gain proficiency in this skill.
Criteria of success: Success criteria would be when my written articles, reports or any
information that I want to convey to people is easily understood by them without any
confusions or questions.
Conflict solving skills:
Objective: To be able to develop influencing and leadership skills so as to mange
employee conflicts and arguments
Resources: I have experienced that there is wide gap between higher and lower level of
employees that forms one of the cause of conflicts. Also there is quiet difference
between the perception, understanding and patience levels of people. Thus, to be efficient
in problem solving skill I will work on identifying the root cause of any argument or
conflict. Also, identification of needs and aspirations of employees is to provide me with
the benefit to understand the role and goal conflict between employees that will help me
to redress their issues and problems.
Time frame: As per my observation I already have develop trust among people with
whom I am working with. Thus, it will take me around 6 months to enhance this skill.

this skill when I will be able to easily influence my team mates to stop a conflict and will
