INTRODUCTIONUnderstanding specific needs is considered as one of critical aspect in order to understand thekey needs of social group. With an assistance of understanding specific needs study the students caneasily gather information about different perception that belongs to public and health and social careaspects (Birse, 2001). It provides learning about diverse factors such as health, illness, disability andperception of people towards health and social care services. In this report, learning will focus on diverse case studies which can provides enhanced level ofinformation regarding understanding specific needs concept. With an assistance of this learning,readers can easily understand the perception of people towards health, disability, illness and behaviour.It will also have spot light on service system which can accomplish specific needs in HSC aspects. Itwill also focus on diverse techniques and strategies which can render a great support to understandingof individual needs. Furthermore, it will also provide information about factors, challenges andstrategies that can be consider in order to overcome conflicts. TASK 11.1 Concept of health, disability illness and behaviour in relation to user of health and social careservicesConcept is considered as a classification of diverse factors which can improve the workconditions within health and social care sector. In order aspect, it can also be said that concept iscombination of different models which relates with the health and social care services (Geels, 2004).According to conversation and meeting with Mr. Jack, it can be stated that there are various problemsthat health care user faces in context of health, illness, disability and behaviour. The holistic care isconsider as system that include broad scare mainly focuses on meeting their emotional, physical,economical and spiritual requirement of patients in response with their illness. Health: The concept of health can be defined as a physical circumstances that person faceswhile using services of health and social care sector. These conditions can relates to diversefactors such as mental, social and physical aspects (Goodson, 2010). It can be analyzed thathealth is also considered as human body efficiency while taking participation in daily lifestyleactivities. As per the case scenario, the heath of Mr. Jack is under control with in taking propermedication. Disability: It is mostly defined as a limitation of human body which impacts day to day actionsof life as well as it also significantly impact the physical and mental health of the patients. It isalso refereed as physical stipulation which limit person or individual to not participate in dailylife events (Kirsten, 2008). It also limit person in gathering of information regarding diverse3

aspects. In this condition person can not perform daily life activities due to physical or mentaldisability. According to the case scenario with the proper medication provided by SHARK teamwill avoid the situation of disability among the patients that results in performing civil activitieswithin the community. Illness: It is referred as definite disorders which have great level of influence on the physicalstrength of individual for temporary period of time. It has been analysed that in thesecircumstances the person have more dependency on others to perform daily life activities.According to the case scenario, with the improper medication Mr. Jack sickness will getenhanced and thus they have to be dependent on the others to perform the activities. Behavioural issue: It is all about transformation in attitude of individual. Due to behaviouralchanges sometime person can face serious mental illness such as depression, etc (MacDonald,2013). It has been analysed that it enhances the sadness and negative aspects within mentalperception of person which may also increase aggressiveness towards others. As per the casescenario, the care provided by the SHARP team will results in avoiding change within thebehavioural aspect of the individual. Therefore, the holistic concept also include analysing the two model that is social model and medicalmodel. Under the social model disability is consider as key issue within the society that need to beovercome. As, it restricts the life of disabled patients. On the other hand, medical model ensure thatindividual is disabled due to their temporary or permanent impairment. Further, these impairment inthe patients must be fixed by ensuring proper medication and treatment. As per the case scenario,SHARK team has provided proper medication to Mr. Jack that support them in controlling their bloodlevel. 1.2 Perception of specific needs have changed over timeAs per the structured study, it can be said that people those have some disorders also expect thathealth and social care workers will have efforts to meet their specific needs. In this support, it can besaid that individual that have disability also have different perception in context of age, disabilitydegree and other problems which can influence their daily life activities (Lane, 2006). It has beenspotted that in traditional period the health care organizations key motive was to meet patients specificneeds by providing better care as issues regarding physical and mental illness was increasing. But nowa day’s health care services quality has affected due to overcrowded aspect. In other aspect,advancement in crowd also influencing health care standards in negative manner (Polit, 2007). It isalso one of reason that industry is facing diverse issues and new health care firms are not having muchsuccess in current market. 4
