Author’s background: The author of the article is Mevlüde Zengin (Zengin, 2016), a
female Turkish novel writer. She is a facility member of the Cumhuriyet University based in
Turkey. She is a professor of the English language and literature in that university. Previously,
she has penned down several critique articles on several different topics that are related to the
English literature. Her other articles are based on the poem London by William Blake and his
other papers. The information that she has provided in the article will be much use to understand
the topic i.e. related to Agatha Christie (Christie & Suchet, 1937).

Journal of Social Sciences. It is an international academic and peer-reviewed journal that
typically publishes several articles related to the social science and humanities (Ozdemir et al.,
2014). It is also to note that this journal is published for four times in a year. These articles are
published in this journal after doing a good amount of research work (Zengin, 2016).

In Agatha Christie’s Death On The Nile: A Postcolonial Reading”. The novel Death on the Nile
has been criticized here.
Author’s argument and perspective: The author Mevlüde Zengin is trying to argue over
the presence of orientalism and post colonialism in the novel Death on the Nile. In this regard,
the author has presented the facts of decentralization of the western culture in an innovative
manner. She has brought out the several important points of oriental issues presented by Agatha
Christie in a crafty manner. As per Zengin (2016), Agatha Christie has portrayed the people from
the east in a negative manner in this novel and the values and insights of the people of Egypt has
been described by her in brilliant way.
