INTRODUCTION
Tourist resort management is a part of hospitality and lodging industry and the
management term refers to organising, conducting, controlling and staffing of human resources
with other sources of company in efficiently and efficient manner. In which the present report is
based on various kinds of tourism destinations which are connected with the resort and different
kinds of services that are offered by numerous resorts throughout the world (Huang, 2017). The
following report is based on Carden park hotel, which is golf resort and present in Tilston,
United kingdom. The main focus of this resort is to target those consumers who possess a
passion for golf as they have separate location for golf playing. Along with this, it have entire
luxurious facilities which are consumed by targeted peoples. These all services are little high but
they posses a positive brand image and this is because they well maintained their services and
offers good quality services. This enables them in having strong consumers base. In this report
discussion about various types of resorts, issues, challenges that faces by management team is
carried out. Also, differences in operational requirements and potential issues is included. Lastly
types of packages that is offered by the company and the business plan is covered.

P1 Different types of resorts
Every people need a break or a change from his working life. So for this he wish to go to
the resort for holidays. Resorts now a days become a way of life. Resorts are self contained
commercial establishments who offers various types of food, beverages, cuisines, entrainment,
sports and shopping options (Velázquez and et.al., 2019). There are various types of resorts
which are classified below:
Hill station resorts: When resort is situated at hill. The most important benefit of having
resort at hill station that the air worked as a cooler and there is no need of air
conditioners. These resorts mainly consist of beautiful views and locations, romantic
gateways etc. For example- Rivergate resort in Karjat is a hill station resort.
Beach resorts: Beach is the popular location for a resort. These resorts are located in
coastal areas and major attraction of these resorts are beaches. They provide
entertainment facilities and other gaming activities for the customers.

Golf resort: theses resort mainly focus on playing golf. So the customers who play are
passionate about playing golf comes in theses resorts. Resorts provide a big ground to
play golf along with that drinking area, entertainment options like music, clubbing,
beverages etc. this fulfils customer needs and satisfaction. Carden Park Hotel comes in
this category as it is a Golf resort.
Spa resorts: these resorts are those types of resorts which have exquisite amenities of
spa. Many times luxury resorts established spa in their resorts which create advantage for
them as it attracts more customers. Carden park is one of them.
Luxury resorts: luxury resorts are the type of resorts which is mainly for luxury
customers. As its charges are much high as compared to other types of resorts. It is for
those customers who want to experience luxuries facilities (Handaru, 2020). These
facilities includes fine dining experience and entertainment facilities etc.
Key features of resorts
There are various features which an resort have top attract its customers:
First of all location is very important for any resort. As resort should be located in natural
surroundings where there is proper connectivity or well structured infrastructure should
be there. And availability of good mobile networks , power and water should be there.
Then resorts should be near to airports or railway stations so that it makes easy to reach
the resort for a customer.
A resort with good and large area considered an ideal resort which have conference,
gathering and party space. A Carden Park hotel has all these facilities and features in it.
Issues and challenges of managing resorts.
Cleanliness and renovation: This is the major challenge which is very common but it
needs to be proper to satisfy a customer. This is very necessary by the resorts because
they need to compete with its competitors. Hotel face this challenge as an opportunity.
Technology: Technology is the another challenge or issue faces by every resort. As
resort needs to use latest technology to upgrade itself (Holland and Leslie, 2017).
Technology innovations benefits customer and hotels both.
Meaningful experiences: This is the last but most important issue or challenge for every
resort. In resorts, technology used, design trends and personalisation help the customer to
give meaningful experiences and great loyalty.
