INTRODUCTION
Global justice is an issue in political philosophy that is arising from the concern about
unfairness (Gu and et.al., 2021). This present study is based on gender equality sustainable
development issue that is affecting people to the great extent. It will further discuss roles of
UNICEF in improving life on land of people by identifying climate and other environmental
problems and developing strategies accordingly. Improving gender equality and improving life
on land of people are main sustainable development goals that this study will discuss on.
TASK-3
SDG-15 Life on land
The sustainable development goals 15 in concerned with the life on land. The major
motive of this goal is associated with creation of the effective life on the land. This involves
protecting, restoring along with promoting the sustainable use of the terrestrial ecosystems. Also,
this goal includes protecting the forest as they are vanishing over high note. Land degradation is
the major cause that is impacting the life on land. Therefore, this has been considered as the key
issue under this goal. Conserving the mountain ecosystem, protecting natural habitats and
elimination of the poaching and trafficking of the species that needs to be protected has been
considered as the motive of this goal. As deforestation has been proven drastic in terms of
disturbing the life on land. The air quality and the quality of soil has been reduced on a high
note. Furthermore, high emission of carbon into the atmosphere has been proven drastic over the
health of the people (Bontorin, 2021). Therefore, SDG-15 life on land is associated with the
fundamental priority of creating the effectiveness of life on land within maintaining the natural
attributes that are aligned with the environment. Key themes of Laudato Si is concerned with the
different themes that are describing the major parameters that is impacting the people and global
environment in the context of life on land. The concept of consumerism and irresponsible
development in context of key themes of Laudato Si’ depicts that, consumerism of nature has
been done on a high note. However, people have shown their irresponsible behaviour towards
managing the nature and its attributes. The people have started thinking about them only and
focusing on increasing their utility level and creating the threat for the environment. Cutting
down large number of forest and following deforestation has become trend in the name of
development. However, this is taking society towards the deadliest end (Chalupnicek, 2021).

Environment is one of the most vital element on the earth and this connects everything
and everyone. However, the society is moving towards the path that is concerned with increasing
in consumerism and impacting the environment (De Grauwe, 2021). One of the major theme of
Laudato Si that is, everything is connected depicts that, the environmental and social issues or all
the other issues are inter-connected with each other. Life on land can become effective only
when the link among the attributes will be clear in the mind. The global environmental
challenges requires the systematic challenges that are concerned with solving the issues. For
example; Pandemic which has been proven one of the drastic environmental issue was linked
with the health, economy and social elements. The virus transmitted within spending in the air
the climate change has been observed. It has impacted the health of the people in all around the
world. Often, the lock-down has reduced the stability of economy and created certain social
problems such as, unemployment. Thus, in this manner everything is connected. The change in
climate has impacted the numerous elements. In similar manner, key theme of Laudato Si,
everything is connected states that, in context of saving environment the focus needs to be made
on every aspect (Klein and Laczniak, 2021). As in terms of increasing the modernization, forest
has been cut down and the environment experience damage. Thus, the major reason behind the
harming environment is linked with social, economic and health attributes. Thus, the life on land
goal is focusing over inter-connecting the elements that impacts the environment and the motive
of saving environment has been determined under this. The changing pattern of landscape and
biodiversity has assured the key contribution in the outbreak of the diseases. The range of
infection has been arrived due to this and impacted the health of the people in high manner.
Often, large number of healthcare workers has faced such diseases while assuring the treatment
and their life faces danger.
Central message regarding life on land sustainable goal
Laudato Si’ is the second encyclical of people Francis and its main focus is on care for
our common home. There are number of environmental problems that are affecting people living
on earth. Some factors that are increasing health and other risks for people include: poverty,
climate change and increasing use of natural resources by current generation. The encyllcal
highlights the ethic of care that is central to the earth charter including: interdependence,
common good, social justice and new global consciousness. In addition, it can be said that people
need to focus on all these things for having a good life on land (Fazey and et.al., 2020). Life on

land is one of the main sustainable goal that everyone wants to achieve and nurses are being
trained to encourage people about using natural resources in a manner that can satisfy their basic
needs without hurting the needs of future generation. As per the press release of Radio Vaticana,
central question was being asked by Laudato Si’. The question that can help out people and
nurses in knowing importance of having a healthy and positive life on land. What kind of life do
we want to leave to those who come after us like our children who are growing up and their
children? By asking this question by our self, we can know importance of protecting natural
resources and accordingly, everyone will live in an effective manner. This question lead
everyone to ask about the meaning of existence as well as its values at the basis of social life. It
can help us out in knowing as what is our purpose of living on this land and what is our life on
this land. This question can help us out in leading sustainable development goal.
This sustainable goal is related to bachelor of nursing course and improved health as
well. For improving health of people and making a sense of life, UNICEF is striving hard and
this community led organisations is working for helping out vulnerable children to not only
survive but thrive for years to come. There are three ways in which it is focusing on
accomplishing sustainable goal related to life on land. As per this goal, it is focusing on
improving lives of people all around the world and making them feel valued (Elmqvist and et.al.,
2019). Three main areas on which UNICEF is working out for promoting sustainable
development goal of improving life on land such as:
Ready for life time of learning: This community led organisations believe that the first day of
school is the most memorable as well as exciting days of child and parent’s life. But nowadays,
years leading up to this day is critical and early childhood education sets the foundation for
children’s learning journey. Some children in Australia do not have proper and easier access to
education and it leaves them behind and to close this gap as well as improving life on land of
such children, UNICEF Australia has partnered with Moriarty foundation to expand their
acclaimed early childhood education program. Indi Kindi is program that gives children in
remote areas under the age of 5 the best start of life by receiving educational facilities and
improving health (Clark and et.al., 2020). So, on the basis of this, it can be said that UNICEF is
playing a major role in accomplishing sustainable goal of improving life on land.
An opportunity to speak up: For improving life on land of everyone, it is important for people
to speak up and listen to others as well. people have number of skills and by sharing their views,

they can make number of changes in the world. For accomplishing this sustainable goal of
improving life on land, UNICEF listen to and lifting up voices of children and young people
from all around the world. UNICEF Australia meet with thousands of children young people in
their communities and raise their issues. It is believed that by addressing issues and problems
that children are facing at initial stage, life on land can be improved and it will have positive
impact on their health as well (Chigbu, 2021). Some topics that have been discussed and on
which this organisation talk with young people and children include: mental health, climate
change and other issues that they are suffering from. On the basis of this, it can be said that life
on land sustainable development goal can be accomplished if nurses and UNICEF actively work
on these topics.
Recovering from Crises: When years of drought coupled with heatwaves as well as extreme
weather conditions lead to bushfire season of year 2019-2020. From this crisis, two in 5
Australian children were impacted. In this context, it is stated by UNICEF that this changing
situation affect health and life of people to the great extent. Consequences of trauma during this
emergency has changed trajectory of their lives as it affected children’s and young people’s
mental health, employment and education. On the basis of this, it can be said that caring for
children impacted by natural disasters (Chan, 2021). There are examples of some crises that have
affected children to the great extent. For improving health or lives of life of children, UNICEF
organisations is working hard.
On the basis of above discussed roles of UNICEF, it can be said that it can help out in
accomplishing sustainable development goal and improving life of people on land.
CONCLUSION
From the above report it has been concluded that, SDG-15 Life on land is associated with
increasing the quality of life on the earth. Furthermore, the report has highlighted the major
attributes that are connected to this goal. Moreover, the importance of following this goal has
been described in the report. Key themes of Laudato Si’ in relation of saving environment has
been shown in the report. Also, the key themes have been linked with the SDG-15 life on land.
Also, the future threat that can be generated if the quality of lives has not been maintained on the
land. This can only be assured by saving the environmental elements.
