INTRODUCTION
Business refers to an organisation or enterprise entity which provides products (goods /
services) to the market with the motive of earning profit (other than NPOs). There are many
types of business forms and types of business that have different principles and scales of
working. Unilever is one the biggest company of the world that is diversified in more than 400
brands in hundreds of different segments.(Shrestha, 2021) Unilever is geographically diversified
in 190 countries. The company is one of the oldest company too, the oldest document of the
company states the year as 1292. Businesses which perform on large scales have different
department to focus them accordingly. Various types of business departments and of Unilever
with their different focuses are as follows:-
MAIN BODY
The marketing department plays a vital role in promoting the goods and services of a
company. This department is responsible for making the customers know about the company's
variety of products and shows its existence in the market.(Hahm, 2018) Unilever uses trust
building marketing and highlights about the quality products they use in making of their
commodities. They explains the customers about usage and also challenge their competitors by
mentioning their products as best. The company uses many types of marketing such as
advertising, personal selling, sales promotion and many more.
Operations/Production department is the root of a business and is responsible for all the
activities starting from making of the products to delivering the products to the customers or
other clients. The quality, making charges,storage,packing and many other aspects of the
products mainly depends on them. Company focuses to minimize their waste that is produced in
process of making of its products and has built many recycling plants for it which helps it to
filter its social image through environmental concern. The department of the adjacent firm focus
on the quality and usage of healthy raw materials in their goods.(Long, 2017)
Finance section handles the accounting of the firm and is responsible for all the
accounting statements, availability of funds, using tax and minimising expenditure strategies,
investment and maintenance of cash flow of the organisation. The relevant has a expertise team
in this department which have launched various strategies for maintaining its accounts such as
“finance of the future” and “strategic thrusts”. The company uses flexible approach towards this

section and continuously upgrade to new accounting methods that benefits them. It spends a lot
in training programs of their employees to ensure and implement best strategies for maintaining
their strong accounting standards. (Möller and Halinen, 2017)
Human resource division purposely focuses on all the employee and labours of a business
firm. This ensures the relationship of between each other and with the employers is good and
also works in maximisation of the production of the workforce using several methods. Our
relevant company focuses on identifying and pooling out the talents of their workers. They
concentrate on maintaining the good relation with their employees and workers and uses tag line
“human before brand”. This motivated the workforce to put their best efforts in the company.

The coordination between all these departments of the company will help in avoiding the
conflicts between each other, help each other, increase the connectivity and this proves to impact
in the positive way.
CONCLUSION
From the above conducted it is concluded that, different forms of business helps the
business in many different ways. It included marketing, operation / production, finance and
human resource departments, their importance and how our company Unilever uses them for
building performance of their organisation.
