INTRODUCTIONThe travel and tourism is the most growing business sector all over the world. The manyof the individuals and group of individuals are fond of travelling to the different destinations ingroup of families or individually(Cheng, Petrick and O'Leary, 2011). The rise in the travel andtourism have increase the emergence of the travelling agencies and businesses which providesthe facilities to the clients of accommodation, travelling tickets and many more. The increase ofthis sector have lead to the development of tourist destination. The travel and tourism sector havemade good contribution in England of £106 billion to the economy of British and providesemployment to 2.6 million individuals in this sector. The TUI group(Touristic unioninternational) is the business working which is working in the tourism sector. It is the worldsnumber one business in his sector. The business have the good tour operators, 1,600 travelagencies and 6 tourist airlines with 150 aircraft's. The group has over 300 hotels providingaccommodation with 2,14000 beds, and 14 cruise lines. It provides services around all thesignificant travel destination. The group was incorporated in this field in the year 1997 andacquired Hapag-Lloyd the Germany's leading tourism company. The TUI group merged with theUK's listed company named as First Choice Holidays PLC in the year, 2007.TASK 11.1 Explain key historical developments in the travel and tourism sectorIn the earlier time before 2000 years the individuals and the group of individuals whowere rich in the ancient Rome who where rich took the tours on coasts and country side to spendthere summers. This lead to the emergence of the tourist business. The rise in the tourists lead tothe fastest growth of the tourism sector. The growth of this industry lead to the increase theinterest of the individuals towards the tours to the different destinations and the arrangements ofthe travellings where organised and planned by the tour organisers and the tours agencies. Theagencies and the organisers provided complete help for the journey in case of food,accommodation in hotels etc. The planning and arrangements for the tours played the significantrole in the development of the travel and tourism sector(Dickinson and Lumsdon, 2010). Thenew facility of the health and culture was emerged in the 18th century. The peoples with goodpower in the terms of the money started visiting the new places such as the seaside and spa's. Thevisitors were beneficial for the Europe for the spring waters and fresh airs. The people later
