Aim:
“To analyze the importance of implementing equality and diversity practices in order
to reduce workplace discrimination within an organization. A case study on Sainsbury’s.
Research Objectives:

workplace discrimination within Sainsbury’s.
 To determine the advantages gain by Sainsbury’s in declining level of workplace

Concept of workplace discrimination
According to Alison Doyle, 2019, workplace discrimination is increasing and impact on the
mindset and performance of staff members in a negative manner. It take place due to gender,
background, education, physical appearance and many more. It is determine that workplace
discrimination not only impact on the performance but also decline the brand image and
market performance of an organization.
To examine different equality and diversity practices which help in declining workplace
discrimination within Sainsbury’s.
As per the view pointof Enoksen, E., 2016, it is stated that it is significant for a business entity
to focus on eliminating discrimination at workplace as it help in maintain performance and
productivity level in an appropriate manner. In addition to this, it is determine that there are
different ways used by company such as providing equal job opportunities, training &

development session, giving equal pay and so on. Moreover, an organization can allow its
employees to participate in the decision making process as it help in making them feel valued
and important at workplace that leads to employee satisfaction as well as retention.
Different advantages gain by Sainsbury’s in declining level of workplace discrimination.
According to Ely Robin and et. al.,2017, it is analysed that companies make use of different
policies and strategies for reducing the influence of discrimination. It help respective
organisation to gain advantages such as employee retention, decline in employee turnover rate,
increase in productivity and profitability, enhancement of brand image and many more. All
these also help company in encouraging employees due to which objectives are attained
effectively as well as timely. It is important for an organisation to properly monitor the

Research methodology is one of the important part of an investigation that states the methods
as well as structure used by researcher for conducting the investigation in a proper manner.
The methods is discussed below:
Research design
It is defined as structure that is followed and executed at the of performing activity of
research. There are different forms of research design that is experimental, descriptive,
correlation, metal analytical and so on. For the present investigation, descriptive research
method will be adopted as it help in gaining in depth knowledge about research topic that leads
to development of authentic and valid conclusion in a proper manner.
Data collection method: The two sources of collecting data is primary & secondary sources.
In the present research, both the methods will be used by researcher in order to collect
information. It assist investigator in achieving positive outcome timely as well as effectively.
Types of investigation: It is stated that there are two forms of investigation that is quantitative
and qualitative. For the present investigation, quantitative method is adopted by researcher as
it help in identifying and analysing data which in turn assist in obtaining valid and proper
results.
Sampling: In order to select sample size, there are two methods that is probabilistic & non-
probabilistic method. For the present research, Random sampling method is used which is a
type of probabilistic sampling. In addition to this, 30 respondents are selected who are the
stakeholders, employees of the company.
