INTRODUCTION
Recruitment is a collective measure of several processes of attracting, short-listing,
selection and induction of candidates from a pool of candidates. This collective measures helps
in selecting candidate required for given job description(Bush and Middlewood, 2013). This
report focussed on putting limelight on working of Purple Mail Company ,a renowned parcel
company of United Kingdom. In recent times company is facing problem in their internal
management in terms of leadership, management and revenue which leads to unsystematic
working culture in organisation. This assignment has discussed various factors related to
recruitment and selection process of employees as well as different styles of leadership and their
impact on organisation and working of employee. Based on this survey some suggestions are
also given which will benefit the organisation in heir future prospectives. Firms must ensure
that they use right and responsible person for the respected job.
TASK 1
1.1 Documents require to selecting new staffs
Documentation are critical aspect of hiring employees. It helps in better judgement of
employee and provides systematic approach and transparency in this process. It helps in
evaluation of potential and efficiency of employee according to job description. Accessing
employees personal details like family, occupation or other past records. It evaluate different
aspects like asserts of employee, taxations or any criminal cases(Grint and Holt, 2011).
Sources of recruitments – Recruitments can be done through internal sources and external
sources.
Selection process includes-
Job specification- It includes factors like objectives, tasks, job roles and qualification
criteria required in specific job.
Persons specification- It consider skills which must suit job description like
communication, personality, creativity or intellectual knowledge.
Curriculum Vitae – It contains brief summery of qualification and background of
employees for quick referrals.
Medical health – It must also be refereed while interviewing otherwise it will hamper
company's efficiency and image.

Apart from these factors legal aspects are also considers which can give equal legal
rights for both employees and employee hence both can claim in case of any injustice or
unethical activities(Lev, 2013) .
1.2 Effect of legal, ethical consideration and regulatory in selection and recruitment process
Purple Mail Company uses different factors while going through hiring and recruitment
process. Some of the factors are described below-
Legal – While recruitment it must be considered that candidates must be judged and
hired based on their potentials and abilities. Judging them based of their caste, creed, race
is strictly prohibited. UK government have enacted different policies and rules which
prohibits activities of discrimination and provide equal rights for their workers. Labour
law of UK government have given rights to employee to raise their voices against any
unlawful practices in an organisation(Mayfield,2014).
Ethical – Organisation has terminated the employee in an unethical way which lead to
resignation of 100's of senior employees. So corrective measured must implementing
ethical value which will increase in corporation among their employees and ultimately
increase growth rate of organisation.
Issues related to diversification- Every company wish to expand their business but
company is having difficulties especially in Arabian countries due to political conflicts
and increase in nuclear reserve in those countries (Mayfield, 2011.
Regulatory authority – They are autonomous government body which follow strict
rules and regulation which guides organisation in business process of organisation. There
are different government organisations like General Council of the Bar, Faculty of
Advocates, Law Society of Northern Island, Law society of Scotland which are working
efficiently in guiding organisations.
1.3 Being part of selection process
Being a Human Resource Manager of Purple Mail Company I must consider different
factors in hiring process and be prepared for flexibility in working process.
