INTRODUCTION
Food service management is the essential procedure which should be performed by the
management in terms of offering edible and safe food products to their customers. Moreover, the
food industry is rapid growing and for this, it is important to make sure each and every activity
should be performed in an effective and systematic manner to accomplish prominent goals and
objectives (Filimonau and Delysia, 2019). Moreover, this industry offer dinning services and
also try to achieve suitable profitability by offer best services. To carry forward the study,
McDonald's is considered which is an American fast food company which is founded in 1940
and also operated by Richard and Maurice McDonald. It is the largest world wide restaurant
chain and operate around 100 countries. Report tends to cover, various approaches of supply
chain management and principles of procurement and sourcing and also assess various analytical
tools for suitable management strategies to accomplish prominent goals and objectives.

P1. Identify various food supply chain approaches including key stakeholders
Food supply chain consider the prominent procedure which depict the effective
movement of food from its origin to the final customers. This process tends to involve three
significant industries considering agriculture, food process and prominent distribution. Along
with this, effective food supply chain cover the suitable movement from one place to another
place as the reserve process (Suhartanto and et. al., 2019). For this, the suitable players of the
food supply chain for McDonald's is discussed as:
Farmer- Processing- Transportation and Storage- Consumer
In first stage, farmers are those individuals who tends to harvest crops with the help of
artificial and natural way. In current times, organic and natural farming is promoted and
considered by customers as it is in the prominent demand. For this, the effective
stakeholders are the farmers who harvest in terms of making seed from the crop.
The another step of food process is the manufacturer who tends to produce food
considering effective and safe food services to their customers. It undertake overall
processing factor which include heating, drying, refrigerating and many more and the
involved stakeholders are the manufacturers who produce raw materials into finished
product.

Third step consider suitable transportation and storage of food product which is
developed by manufacturers to their effective customers (Saad and et. al., 2019).
Moreover, this stage tends to eliminate the contaminated stock and the involved
stakeholder is the suppliers in terms of transferring finished products to their customers.
At last, it depicts the final thing in which customers want hygienic and edible food
products and the responsible stakeholders are consumers.
Besides this, there are three various types of supply chain which is suggested to
McDonald's regarding the effective involvement in various services as these are discussed as
below: Direct: It is considered as the easiest method as in this, no middleman is involved.
Restaurant purchase products directly to suppliers and sell to their potential customers. Extended: Here, various middleman are involved in terms of supplying food to their final
customers and also consider effective transportation procedure that include big chain to
reach products to their final customers.
Final: It include the effective chain of participants regarding the movement of food
products considering various resources, finances and so on which is the prominent for the
food system (Jeong and et. al., 2020). Along with this, they also consider various
individuals like purchaser, company, suppliers and customer.
Hence, the prominent approaches of supply chain is effective in terms of selling
significant goods to their final customers. For this, various approaches are considered including
various members from the producer to supplier and then customer.
P2. Discuss the principles of procurement and sourcing procedure
Procurement is the effective process to place order by manufacturers in terms of paying
effective price considering the particular orders which has been received. For this, the purchasing
management is concerned with prominently buying significant products and services from
retailers undertaking various compliances including the values and requirements. For this, the
effective goods are purchased from right source (Zhao and et. al., 2019). Therefore, various
indicators who leads to test quality and effective availability of control is mentioned as: Approved supplier list: To complete the network of vendors, the manager of McDonald's
need to undertake effective verification of the authorised name for the suppliers.
