INTRODUCTION
Sustainable Tourism is defined as a commitment towards making low impact upon local,
culture and environment by considering towards future employment for local individual
(Saarinen, 2019). Sustainable Tourism is a positive aspect through which entities involved in
travel and tourism industry can positively conduct their business operations while ensuring
maximum profitability. In this report formative discussion has been made on adverse impact of
travel and tourism that emerge the need of sustainable tourism development. Along with this
report include role of stakeholders in strategic development process and global sustainable
tourism agenda. Report also includes comparison and contrast of the outcome of Sustainable
Tourism strategies in established and emerging tourism destination.

tourism development
Travel and tourism industry is leading industrial segment that receive billion’s of
customers in a year. From passing many years this industry see significant growth that adversely
have negative impact upon many aspects like, environment and scare resources that drive need
for Sustainable Tourism Development in order to attract attention of customers while ensuring
limit use of critical resources as to protect natural areas and environmental values:
Scare Resources: With the significant increase in business aspect of travel and tourism
from past many decades it has been analyzed that it adversely impacts many scare resources like
raw material, energy, food, equipments etc. Travel and tourism create pressure on these
resources. As in order to attract consumers in all season, tourism industry overuses scare
resources that have already leading towards short supply.
Environmental Consideration: Travel and tourism adversely impact upon environment as
factors like fossil fuel, wildlife, minerals, fertile soil, forest are diminishing at faster rate. Due to
increase in construction of tourism facilities in order to provide attractive and enchanting
