INTRODUCTION
Tourist resort management includes the widest variety related to the tourism and
hospitality industry. Tourism management includes travelling agent, travel guides while resort
management involves lodging operations, foods and beverages services, and recreational
facilities (Alvarez- Sousa, 2018). This report is based on the Mere Golf resort and spa that is
established UK. And they work all across the world. They have a special service in their resort
that is of golf and spa to attract the public of targeted market. It is the most luxuries hotel that has
more positive brand and strong customer loyalty and the offer their services with high price but
with more quality. This report includes the different issues and challenges that is faced by the
management, difference in operational functions, several types of packages, business plan,
different sustainable approaches and practices used by the hotel resort.

There are different types of resort and they have tier own style of working and providing
the services as per their own convenience. There offers different services that is offered by the
different types of the resorts as like entertainment, fun activities, spa, gym services and many
others that are as described as:
 Beach resort: It is the type of resort that is localised in the coastal areas while in this the
beaches are the major attraction that attracts the large number of public (Robaki, 2020). It
includes different facilities as like recreational and related to the entertainment; relax
surround, games facilities and many others. There are some other businesses as well as
like beautiful and attractive views, having striking locations best drinks and shots that
drive chill mode by which people restrain their load.
 Island resort: It is a kind of resort that is located in the landscape areas and it also
provide luxury to the customers. This resort targeted those customers who have much
liability and spend large amount for money for their own entertainment. It is a paradise
that provides more luxury and provides the best suitable environment to their customers.
It includes various facilities as like sunbath, snorkelling, more adventurous surround etc.

most valuable and lavishness facilities to the customers. They also offers the best suitable
services on same time with most appropriate prices with this they exquisite the supportive
services that attracts the large number of the public.
 Spa resort: It is the resort that provides the best and relaxed services to the customer and
this kind of services will be gained by those customers who want more relaxes and mind
fresh from their daily life routine. In this the resort expands their services with the spa as
well and increase more value to the customers. It has a lot of advantage as in today’s
scenario people get attract towards the spa services thus they want more flexibility from
their daily lifestyle.
Challenges in maintenance of resorts:
 Changing customer expectation: As there are a lot of resort in the market and they all
offers the huge amount of the services and that has been changes or innovative on
continuous basis (Kostetska, 2018). Thus the expectations of the customer also get
changed that is the biggest challenge for all the resorts. It is the factors that have the
negative impact on the sales and profit of the company and to develop that they have to
implement unique changes within the business.
 Renovation and maintenance: To grab the attention of the customers it is must that
resort must always renovate their infrastructure and it is the most basic challenge that has
been faced by all the resorts. While it needs a lot of financial investments in the business
in order to change or renovate the structure resort has to pay the highest amount that
reduces the profit ratio.
 Updating with latest technology: It is the advancement that has been intrudes as per the
change or up-gradation on technologies in the market. It also makes huge investments as
technology will be change on random basis and resort must have to apply that within
