INTRODUCTION
Managing a successful business project is a kind of project management which is a
significant practice that includes planning, controlling, initiating and start working the work
within the specified project. These steps are mainly undertaken in order to achieve certain
objectives and goals. It requires requisite skills and knowledge to manage and implement the
project. It involves independent research and the investigation to carry out the project. Talent
management (TM) is considered as the constant process that includes attracting and also
retaining the workforce in an organisation by developing their knowledge and skill in order to
motivate and improve the performance of the staff (Bottema, 2019).
The organisation chosen for this report is Sainsbury, which is a multinational company
established in London in the year 1869. This report shall cover the research on talent
management with its aims and objectives, project management plan, primary secondary research,
its interpretation with recommendations. Lastly it will cover reflection of the researcher.
TASK 1
Prepare project aims and objectives for a chosen scenario.
TM is referred to as the process which is aimed to retain and attract the employees which
are of high quality in order to achieve the4 common goals and objectives. It helps in developing
the skills of the workforce so that they feel motivated which can result in the improved
performance (Hobbs and Petit, 2017). It is an important strategy which every business carries on
in order to eliminate the cost which may incur due to high employee turnover.
Sainsbury is a British company which deals globally. It was founded in the year 1869. It
is a second largest company in the supermarket chain in UK. It offers its products and services
through hypermarket, supermarket, superstore, forecourt shop and convenience shops. As a HR
consultant, a researcher is being selected for the organisation in order to identify the importance
of the talent management and best talent strategies can be brought out that may be used by the
organisation for retaining and attracting the employees. The main motive of undergoing this
research is to find solution for the problem of talent management by bringing the comprehensive
method which can fulfil its objectives and aim. For executing this research, the aims and
objectives of the research is discussed below-

To analyse the advantages of the strategies relating to talent management so that the
employees can be attracted and retained in the workplace. It is a study on Sainsbury.
Research Objectives-
To identify the benefits of talent management in the organisation.
To ascertain different strategies to overcome the challenge of talent management which is
prevailing the organisation.
To examine different issues of talent management which the company is facing.
Research Questions-
What are the benefits of talent management in the organisation ?
What are different kinds of strategies which Sainsbury can use in order to overcome the
problem of talent-management ?
What are the issues which the company is facing in terms of retaining and attracting the
staff within the organisation ?
Literature review
According to Staff writer (2019), talent management can be defined as a method which is
organised and is a strategic process which helps in getting the right person and develop their
abilities in order to meet the organisational goals. (HR Technologist, 2019)
According to Mona Mumtazian (2020), talent management strategies are important as it
helps in attracting the top talent and increase the performance of the employees. It builds
employee engagement and results in high satisfaction. (Career360, 2020).
According to Neil Kokemuller (2019), talent management strategies involves many
challenges which may result in high cost in implementing the strategies and may also result in
work conflicts. (AZ Central, 2018)
Project management plan
It is a document that is formal in nature which involves description of the project as to
how it must be carried out. It normally provides the targets, scope, timeline, budget and other
components in order to keep the project on the track (Walters and Helman, 2020). It helps in
communicating the details and information in respect to the project to the concerned authorities.
In relation to the research on talent management strategies in Sainsbury, there are many
components involves in this plan which is discussed below-

Cost- It is the sum which shall be used by the researcher for completing the research
successfully. In order to successfully complete the task, the researcher is required with a certain
amount of cash which is like a budget for carrying on the entire research. For this task, the
researcher shall be required with a cost of £895. This cost will help in completing the task on
time and with sufficient funds.

Time- It is the time lot within which the work is to be completed by the researcher
(Burger-Helmchen, and et. al., 2020). In order to successfully achieve the objectives and aims of
the researcher, the researcher shall require the time of 10 weeks which shall begin from 12
October 2020 and end on 20 December 2020. This time is sufficiently allotted to each activity so
that research can be done successfully and aims can be achieved effectively.
Quality- The information and the data which is collected by the researcher must be of
certain quality and fulfil the quality aspects. In order to complete the research with accurate
results, the researcher shall use the data and information which is to be collected by primary and
secondary research so that it can bring quality data for its analysis. This will bring reliable
recommendation from the researcher which can be used by the company in order to overcome
the problem.
Communication- The means through which information and data will be collected by the
researcher is effective communication. The channels which can be used by the researcher shall
include emails, telephonic conversations, verbal face to face communication and many other.

Scope- This research has a wide scope as it will help in giving support to the company in
order to overcome the problem of talent strategy. This research will help the investigator in
bringing the best strategy for the organisation which is suitable for its successful management of
the workforce. Additionally, it will help in performance management and increasing the
efficiency of the worker.
Risk- There is certain risk which are involved in starting up anything. Likewise, this
research also has certain risk which includes fear of researcher to complete the task on time, risk
of collecting the reliable data, privacy concerns and many other.
Resources- It involves requisite resources with the help of which the researcher shall
complete its research. The investigator shall require resources which includes human resource,
assets of the company, finance and many more.

Gantt Chart
It is a tool which is graphical in nature that helps in showing the task and activities of
project which shall be performed against the allotted time. It is one of the visual representation of
project which breaks the project and show them on the chart so that it becomes easy and
understandable.
It is an important and popular tool for the project management which helps in planning
and programming the project of different sizes. Under this, the timeline of project and the task is
converted into a horizontal bar chart which shows beginning and end dates together with the task
which is completed at each of the stage with the name of the task owner (Zhao, 2019). It builds
relationship and dependency between various activities so that the progress of the project is easy
to understand. In context to the present research, the Gantt chart is mentioned below-
