INTRODUCTION
Talent Management refers to the management of talent in such a manner which can be
quite helpful in ensuring that the talented people are effectively and efficiently managed within
an organization (Adamsen, 2019). Therefore, it can be highly helpful in leading towards the
attainment of a wide range of goals and objectives. For the HR managers, it is therefore
important that they make the use of different types of strategies and methods which can help in
ensuring the best use of talent in a right way. HR department thus needs to focus at using the best
strategies and methods possible for the purpose of Talent Management. For this report,
Sainsbury's has been chosen. It is a British Company which focuses on providing a wide range of
goods and services to the people in the market. In this report, a detailed and specific focus will be
made on Establishment of Project Aims and Objectives, Conducting of Research, Presentation of
the Project. Additionally, specific analysis will be made on Reflection on the value gained from
the project as a part of this assignment.
TASK 1
Project Aim and Objectives
Topic- “Talent Strategies used by the companies for attracting and retaining people- A
case study on Sainsbury's”
Aim- To find out about the talent management strategies which can be used by the
companies for attracting and retaining people.
Objectives-
To identify the scope for ensuring the use of talent management in the organization.
To assess the impact created by the use of talent management strategies within the
organization.
To find out the best way through which talent management strategies can be applied
within the organization.
Research Questions-
What are the best talent management strategies which can be used within an
organization?
What is the importance of making the use of talent management strategies within the
organizations?

What is the role of HR department in the implementation of the talent management
strategies within an organization?
According to Karim Ansari, there are different types of Talent Management Strategies
which can be used by the HR departments in the organizations. These are Understanding the
power of job descriptions, Assessment of candidate cultural fit, Learning to become a coach,
Providing continuous training and development opportunities, Giving back to employees with
rewards and recognition and Cultivating an honest career path. Therefore, it is quite important
for the firms that they are able to use these strategies in a best way so that the goals and
objectives related to efficiency and productivity can be raised. Thus, it can be said that with the
use of these particular strategies the enhancement of the overall efficiency and effectiveness
level can be done. Therefore, In this way it can be said that the use of a wide range of Talent
Management Strategies can be made by Sainsbury's so that it is able to attain the goals and
objectives effectively and efficiently.
As per the views of Mona Momtazian, it can be said that there are various types of
reasons due to which the top companies must invest in talent management. It is quite essential
that the use of the best strategies can be made so that the organizations are able to attain the wide
range of goals and objectives related to HR policies in the future can be attained. It is important
for the HR department of the organizations to invest in it because this helps a lot in ensuring that
with a proper use of the talent the firms are able to effectively and efficiently ensure that the use
of the best possible techniques and approaches is done which will help in the management of
work in a proper manner. In Sainsbury's, the HR managers can make sure that they are able to
understand the importance of making the use of Talent Management Strategies so that the
attainment of the overall goals and objectives can be made.
According to HCM, there is a particular role which is played by HR in the Talent
Management within the organizations. It is important that the overall analysis of this particular
role can be made which will thus help in ensuring that the wide range of goals and objectives in
the short-term, medium-term and long-term can be made. Therefore it quite important for
boosting the overall productivity of the organizations.

Project Management Plan
Project Management Plan is a document which is used in order to identify the way a
project is going to perform in the future and the way in which the outlining of the scope, goals,
budget, timeline and deliverables of the project is done so that it can become successful in the
future (Ashif, 2019). For Sainsbury's, it is quite important that the use of this plan can be made
which will help in ensuring that the Project can become successful in a right way.
The various components of the Project Management Plan of Sainsbury's are as follows-
Scope Statement- The scope of Sainsbury's Talent Management Project is wide because
it will not just cover one department but will cover the entire company (Babynina, Kartashova
and Pilipenko, 2020). Therefore, In this way it can be said that the attraction of talented people
within the organization can be done. Thus, it can be said that the project of the organization has a
wide scope and therefore will be able to cover the entire organization.
Critical Success Factors- The Critical Success Factors which are associated with the
project of Sainsbury's are as follows-
Involvement of the employees is an important factor which is associated with the success
of the project because it is quite essential so that the employees are able to attain their
particular goals and objectives in the future.
The role of the HR department is quite important here because it has to identify the ways
through which it can ensure the attainment of the higher-level of goals and objectives.
Deliverables- The Deliverables which are associated with the project are as follows-
Increase in the motivation level of the employees so that they are able to perform to the
best of their skills and abilities.
Increase in the overall efficiency and effectiveness level of the workers thereby
motivating them to identify the way in which they can attain their particular goals and
objectives in the future.
Regular checking of the level of performance of the employees.
Provision of regular training to be provided to the workers so that they can concentrate on
their work.
Work Breakdown Structure- It is a detailed structure through which the division of a
wide range of tasks can be carried out which ensures that the use of appropriate methods and
