TITLE
What issues may arise out of equality and diversity in the workplace and what measures
could be taken to resolve them? A study on Morrisons.
INTRODUCTION
Equality and diversity at the workplace generally referred as giving equal opportunity to
the working employees through diversity, so that they individually can achieve their potential. It
also helps the employees to have their right career direction. (Ashtiani and et. al., 2017). Having
equality and diversity at the work place helps the business to retain its potential employees for
long period. Present study is based on the organisation Morrison that is the largest chain of
supermarket in UK having its headquarter at England. Report will aim to identify the different
issues with respect to the equality and diversity at the workplace and different measures that
business can take in order to measure the same. Report will also conduct small scale research and
data collection in order to support the project aim. Report will further include appropriate
recommendations on bases of the given data
TASK 1
P1 : Aims and Objectives of the project
Overview of the project: - Project is based on equality and diversity at the workplace as it is
essential for a business to implement the same in order to make the employees work effectively
with their potential skills and knowledge that they have. In a diverse working environment it
helps the employees to be competent and they also become capable to adapt the change(Bresler
and Stake, 2017). Present research will help the Morrisons to identify different issues and its
measures that could help the business to implement equality and diversity at the workplace(Bell,
Bryman and Harley, 2018)
Aim of the Project: - The aim of the project is to identify different issues that may arise out of
equality and diversity in the workplace and different measures that could be taken to resolve
them? A study on Morrisons.
Objective of the project: - The respective objectives of the present project that are in need to
achieved are:-
To understand the way equality and diversity will help the firm to have an effective
employee base.

To understand the challenges that organisations face in implementing equality and
diversity.
To analyse strategies that can be used to resolve problems that arise while implementing
equality and diversity at the workplace.
Questions:- The respective question for which researcher will give answer:-
In what ways equality and diversity helps the business for having an effective employee
base?
What are the challenges that organisation may face while implementing equality and
diversity at the workplace?
What are the strategies that can help the business to resolve problems during
implementation of diversity?
P2 : Project Management Plan
PMP is a document that is used in the research project to have description of each and
every phase of the research report and this document generally includes different components
like executing, monitoring and also controlling (Boddy, 2016). The different attributes that are
the parts of Project Management Plan are cost, scope, time, quality, communication etc.

In order to implement different
measures for brining equality and
diversity at the workplace, the
associated cost will be about £60000
in order to conduct different training
and development, change in Practices
of HRM and also for research and
development(Bryman, 2017).
The cost that researcher will bear is
about £58000 in order to appoint a
capable team that can perform the
research project and cost will also be
associated with data collection with
the help of different sources.
Scope
Project scope is wide enough as
organisation can have efficient
employees if they have equality and
diversity at their work environment.
This also helps the business to

will take about 45 days by Morrison
in order to bring equality and
diversity at the organisational culture
and also in their procedure.
To perform the respective research, it
will take about 2 months by the
researcher and for completing these
all tasks on time, researcher will break
down their overall research based
activies with the help of Gantt chart
and also with work breakdown
structure((Jahagirdar and et. al., 2015)
Quality
With the help of this research, it will
bring quality of working employees
at Morrisons that will be having
effective skills and knowledge in
hand(Guerra-Santin, and Tweed,
2015). This also helps the business to
have quality of business performance
by treating the employees in a right
way.
The present study is based on both
qualitative research that helped the
researcher to collect data with the help
of unstructured interviews and open
questions. The respondents talked in
depth about equality and diversity at
Morrisons.
Communication
The respective changes that business
is interested to implement is
communicated to all the respective
employees during the meetings as
well as with the help of emails. They
were also communicated with the
help of different training
sessions(Fletcher, 2017).
With the help of emails and with the
use of mass communication,
researcher will make the clients aware
about the progress of research and
will ask different information with the
help of these mediums only.

Risk
While implementing the measures,
risk arise for business with respect to
the extra cost and time if the
strategies do not work effectively in
improving the organisational work
culture.
There is risk for the researcher that
the selected sample is not up to the
mark as they did not answer the
questions accurately and that affects
the information that they have
gathered as chances of inaccuracy
rises (Noble and Smith, 2015).
Resources
There are different resources that
play an important part for
implementing equality and diversity
at the workplace. These resources are
funds, human resources, time and
also the use of an effective
technology(Mohammad and et. al.,
2016).
For the researcher the important
resources are funds, time and
technology that they have to use in
order to gather the right information
so that they can analyse the data
accurately.
P3 : Work break down structure and Gantt
Work break down structure:-
WBS is useful for the research as this tool helps project to divide it in some smaller
components in order to perform these managerial tasks in an effective manner. This helps the
researcher to make the things simple to understand and executable. It helps the researcher to
identify the basic points that are in need to be controlled. This finally helps in preparing an
effective structure that can be breakdown into different sub activities, as it helps the researcher to
manage them and complete them on time(Palinkas and et. al., 2015).
