TITLE
“What talent strategies do the best companies use to attract and retain people? “A case
study on Tesco
INTRODUCTION
Employees are regarded as one of the most prominent asset of the organisation as those
are helping the business to get higher growth opportunities by contribution of their own efforts.
For organisation this is requisite to understand needs of their employees so that to take out
optimal benefits and use of skills of each and every employee (Sheehan., Grant and Garavan,
2018). In order to manage overall business this is imperative to retain and attract higher talent
by using various strategies. This report is associated with analysing strategies that can be used
by businesses in order to attract and retain talent. In this manner Tesco is taken as the
organisation on which following research will be performed. The study is associated with aims
and objectives including a robust management plan which is supported by research
methodology and drawing appropriate conclusion as well.

study on Tesco.
Objectives
To understand conceptual framework of talent-management within an establishment.
To investigate the need of talent-management within an establishment for retaining and
attracting talented employees. To explore various talent management strategies used by establishments for retaining
and attracting talented employees.

within an establishment? What are the prominent strategies used by an establishment for attracting and retaining
talent?
Project management plan
The project is being defined as an analysis that is being considered with an aim to accomplish
some particular aspect along with meeting objectives of the report. The management of a
project is categorized as an activity that assists alignment of efforts in a road of successful
achievement of project objectives (Papke-Shields and Boyer-Wright, 2017). With an assistance
of project management plan the present research can be completed through execution of all
mentioned steps in proper manner. The main aspects related to project management comprises
of initiative, plan, implementation, analysis and winding up. There is a presence of several
components that are needed by a researcher to attain the research objective which is being
discussed below:
Time period: The concept of time is shown as the most important aspect that is being
needed to fulfil the project goal within a specific time period. Setting up of particular
time period assists the present report to minimise any sort of delay or wastage of time
with fever discrepancies in project. In this context a timeline is being set which shows
estimation for the fulfilment of work within which each project is required to be
accomplished (Wang, Ren. and Liu, 2017). The project report is being connected with
several process for whose every step a specific time is being decided in order to avoid
any sort of risks or uncertainties in the project. The time which is being allotted for the
present research is three months. So that each and every task is being completed within
a time span of these three months.
Cost: The element of cost is being refereed as a combination of every expense that is
going to be considered in completion of present research within an adequate manner. In
relation to this, all the different assumptions are being taken briefly in order to complete
the project within successful manner. The present report comprises of a specific budget
which shows a balance of £800 which will be utilised for the successful achievement of
project target.

Scope: The concept of scope is related to the various functions as well as features that
take place within the research project that is helpful in successful accomplishment of
research objectives. Through considering the goals along with scope of resources for the
project can be fixed with the help of which all the targets can be retained to the set target
for the present report (Cicmil and et . al., 2017). Through making clarity within the
scope a true picture can be identified related to the project activities.
Communication: This component can be taken as a major reason for the failure of
report. After finalizing the time period along with project scope the next stage is to have
interact the details with the concerned people who are related with the completion of
project report. The moment when all the necessary information is not been
communicated with all the parties the report will give birth to the scope of failure
because the information is not been circulated properly. It is essential to have effective
communication with concerned people along with all inputs as well as outputs that are
assimilated at single place. The present research report is required to have interaction
with employees, supervisors and all other related persons.
Risk: Here, the component of risk is being categorized as a negative thought that can
take birth during the process of report preparation ultimately lead project towards a road
to failure. In order to minimise the scope of risk there is a need to develop a backup plan
with an aim of detecting and mitigating various risks with a presence of which the tasks
can be experienced as wastage (Burnette, Williams and Imker, 2016).
Resources: These are referred as those components which assists the researcher to
complete the respective project within an estimated time period. For this a plan is
needed to be prepared with a title resource plan in a manner that each and every task is
being allotted with their required resources so to reach at line of finish. The main
resources that are being required for the completion of project are human resource,
machines and equipment’s, plant, etc. A project can be successfully achieved when all
the resources are being fully and efficiently utilized to their saturation point within a
specific time period. Work breakdown Structure
The term work breakdown structure depicts an application of project
management which is helpful in the system of engineering. This is categorized as an

essential tool which carries out the burden of complete operation effectively in
systematically manner. E4xecuting the technique of Work breakdown structure is very
much beneficial as it bifurcate whole task into tiny segments with an aim that each task
will be attained effectively within a specific time period. The work breakdown structure
is an essential component that manages and organises the work within a single team in
proper sections. In the present report each task is being divided according to the
efficiency of work so to have fruitful and successful outcomes. It significantly divides
the whole task of identical nature in same column so that the work can be analysed in
easy manner.
Gantt chart
The term Gantt chart refers to a tool that is being utilized in order to decide a specific
time frame for a concerned project report through illustration of project schedule. The chart is
being related with different rows and columns within which the left side represents a list of
project task and the top row reflects the specific time period for a particular project.
