Research Topic” Key Challenges and Obstacles faced by organization in talent management”
INTRODUCTION
Talent refers the capabilities, skill and potential of a person to perform different task in an
efficient manner. Here, talent management is a process that is adopted to manage human
resources within company in better manner (Bello-Bravo, 2020). There are ample of strategies
like motivation. Acknowledgement, rewards are used by managers for effective talent
management. It helps company to maintain better coordination at work place. The current
research is based on talent management in TESCO. It is a renowned company of retail sector that
headquartered in UK. It is one of the largest supermarket chains at global level and deals in
groceries and general items. It is currently operating business in nearly 13 countries at global
level. The present report comprises a complete project management plan along with different
techniques of project management such as WBS and Gantt Chart. In addition, various
approaches of data collection and findings also have been included in the report. Lastly, it
comprises necessary recommendations and reflection to demonstrate learning and experiences
through the project. Moreover, it provides detailed analysis regarding obstacles and challenges of
talent management within company.

Project aim: “To identify challenges & obstacles faced by organization in talent
management”. A study on TESCO
Objectives of project:
To develop detailed understanding about the concept of talent management.
To identify the challenges and obstacles faced by TESCO regarding talent management.
To determine strategies that can be used by TESCO in terms of effective talent
management.

Literature review:
According to Bjorvatn and Wald, 2018, talent management is an approach that is used to
manage employees in company in an effective manner. It is a technique to place right candidate
at right place to attain predefined organizational objectives. In reference of TESCO, managers
prepare appropriate strategies to hire competent staff and also help them to grow & enrich at
work place. It really helps in goal attainment and retain employees with organization for longer
run.
According to Briesemeister, 2018, there are ample of obstacles faced by HR managers
while dealing with human resources at work place. There are several individuals belong from
varied culture, having different personality and mind set work together in organization. So,
managers are required to prepare effective strategies such as motivation and more in order to
ensure the support of employees towards organizational growth and success. Here, managers of
TESCO need to analyse requirement of human resources and provide them motivation
accordingly.
According to Bryant, 2019, it is crucial to manage work force in an effective manner for
betterment of company. For this, purpose, there are a number of strategies can be used by HR
personnels such as maintain proper work culture, arrange programs of training and development
and more. Here, managers of TESCO adopt effective techniques of motivation, training and
development & more in order to retain employees for longer run.
P2) Develop a detailed project management plan
This plan is prepared by managers in order to complete a project successfully. It
comprises various components such as quality, scope, risk, cost and more. This plan is really

essential and helps to attain predefined project objectives in an appropriate way. Different
variables of the plan are given as under:
Cost: It is an important factor that demonstrates the overall cost and expenses in
completion of project. It is crucial to analyze the cost of project as it helps to keep proper control
over cost. With this, manager will be able to ensure adequate profit margin form overall project.
Here, expenses incurred in current project are discussed as under:

Scope: It is analyzed that current research has broader scope to provide better grasp on
certain topics that will help researcher to undertake future projects in an efficient manner
(Chaston, 2017). In addition, it will also help to provide detailed knowledge on the issues related
to talent management and will help to prepare appropriate strategies to manage work force within
company in better manner.
Time: It is the another crucial component of overall project where researcher require to
determine the time period in which whole project will be completed. It is really essential to
complete project within time and also to make proper use of available resources. For the current
project, time period of 9 weeks has been determined by researcher.
Quality: Here, it is crucial to maintain higher quality of project throughout the duration
of project. For this, researcher is required to gather data and information from relevant and
authentic sources. It will further help to reach at appropriate conclusion that is essential for
success of overall project.

Communication: Here, proper communication between various parties involve in
research. It helps to reduce down misunderstandings, confusion between different parties that
helps to get desired results (Harmon, 2019). For this, investigator is required to have effective
communication with subordinates in order to combined the efforts of whole tea towards goal
achievement. It will help researcher to get support of employees and maintain effective
coordination throughout the project.
Risk: It is analyzed that future is uncertain thus there are ample of risk associate with it.
So, researcher is required to make anticipations about future situations and then prepare
appropriate strategies in order to meet with future uncertainties effectively. With this,
investigator will be able to confront uncertain situations in an effective manner that is crucial to
meet with predefined objectives.
Resources: There are ample of resources required to complete a project in successful
manner. It includes several tools, techniques, labor in order to meet with predefined goals of
research. These resources are essential to reach at appropriate conclusion through research.
P3) Prepare WBS and Gantt chart to discuss time frame and stages of completion
It is vital for researcher to determine overall time of research as it helps to complete the
whole project in predefined period of time. In addition, there are different techniques such as
WBS and more are used by investigator in order to draw meaningful conclusion through research
(Huber, Kaufmann and Steinmann, 2017). Here, it is crucial for researcher to use appropriate
tools in order to assess overall duration of research that will help to complete assigned project
successfully within pre decided time. Different techniques of project management are given as
under:
Work break down structure (WBS):
It is a technique under which the whole project is divided into smaller task. Then these
activities are assigned to different team members so that the whole project can be completed
within schedule time. In addition, it also helps to reduce down the complexity and fulfill
assigned task in minimum possible cost. Here, managers breaks the complex project in smaller
and manageable task that will further help to complete the whole project in an efficient manner.
It is a way to divide more complex deliverables into manageable task that helps to conquer whole
