INTRODUCTION
Talent management is defined as the process of recruiting highly skilled employees and
ensuring that the employees stay with the company for long time period to form a talented and
skilled workforce. In the current corporate world where human resources are invaluable asset of
business firms, talent management plays an important role in ensuring long term survival of
business firms with stable profitability. The common factor in various successful business firms
is the presence of an effective talented management strategy which helps in creation and
sustainment of workforce which givens the company competitive advantage. The business firms
selected for the present report is British retailor Waitrose. Waitrose is British retail chain which
was formed in the year 1904 and was acquired by John Lewis Partnership which is an employee
owned business. The primary market of the firm is UK but they also sell their products to 52
nations including the Middle East by exporting. The company has recruited more than 50,000
workers to conduct various business operations smoothly. The present report aims to identify
talented management strategies which can be utilised by Waitrose to gain and retain skilled
workers.
