Executive summary
Higher education is defined as the education level which is stared after the school and it takes
place in universities and colleges. It is very important for the overall development in the learners
as it prepares students in terms of professional aspects and improves career opportunities. This
report covers the impact and the role of universities in enhancing the career of students and how
these universities attract and increases tourism in their cities. It also covers the different
guidelines and the events that changes tourist outlook in the city. In the last it covers how
universities add much more potential in cities to attract tourism.
INTRODUCTION
Higher education is important to acknowledge advanced degrees and opportunities in
various fields and provide more knowledge and skills based on the particular fields (Alipichev
and Takanova, 2020). Its an education system which provides various degrees including
bachelor's, master's and doctor's. It also offer various academic facilities such as laboratories,
classrooms, Libraries, offices, hospitals and other facilities that includes transport, sporting,
clubs and societies and all the important resources needs to develop interest of People in various
extra curricular activities. A stakeholder is an institutional body who are responsible for making
effective decision for the welfare of students. Stakeholders includes students, professors,
investors, partners, university staff, alumni, employees, Suppliers and vendors, communities and

government. Stakeholders have an authority to regulate universities policies and implement
academic standards for the development of both university and the students. They have to keep
an eye on regulations, leadership, development and future visions of the university (Viinikka
and Ubani, 2019). They are accountable for advancing knowledge of students, promoting the
effectiveness of the university and ensure the adequacy of resources that needs to make a
university stand in a long run.
This report will analyse the aim of the universities to make major impacts on tourism and
how establishment of a university in a particular city can affect tourists and attract tourists. It
also focuses on the types of activities and events that has been changed in the city or needs to be
change because of the universities in the city and how universities being in the city can add much
more potential in tourism sector.

The Economic Impacts
Economic impacts describes the impacts which has affects the universities due to sudden
changes occurs in the economy (Baytiyeh, 2017). The impacts of economy that affects the
university of tourism hospitality and event industries are describes below:
Impact on the city as a tourist destination
Higher institution plays significant role in tourism and hospitality sector. The
institution helps the student to convince other people with their thoughts and ideas to easily
handle their clients. It educates the people about their culture and tradition. It helps to understand
the human behaviour and conduct towards others (Suleman, 2018). The hospitality sector
demand better communication skill and verbal skill to make effective change in the thoughts of
the ople who visited their places to explore the city.
Major changes in events that are hosted by city
Universities are making major changes in the city as by making the current generation
cult and more aware about the scenario and the rights of common people. Students are becoming
more demanding about their rights and responsibilities (Bhagra and Sharma, 2018). Various
opportunities that universities provide to grow network, shape their agendas, bring clarity in
future strategies. Universities changes the events that being hosted in city as earlier there are

more activities related are related to politics and culture and ethics but now more of a social
issue is being raising , people are getting aware about themselves .Issues like women rights,
healthy environment, preserving cultures, increase tourism, reduce depression,safety rules,reduce
poverty, making city clean and people happy are being the centre of events.
Potential use of university facilities for hospitality purposes
Being an educational institution universities play a key role in improving hospitality
services. By educating and awaring their students about the hospitality purposes helps in
improving and maintaining proper hygiene (Hundarenko, 2019). By sanitizing regularly, by
providing latest technology in hotels, by improving the food and drinking services, by educating
them about safety rules and procedures and providing appealing environment and atmosphere to
the tourist.
The Environmental impacts-
This describes that there are many factors present that creates sudden changes in the
environment which harms the society effectively. The impacts of environment on the university
of tourist hospitality and event industry are described below:
Impact on city's carbon footprint
City's Carbon footprint defined as release of various harmful gases that are formed due
to various human activities. Many universities and institutions are being constantly researching
and making constant efforts to educate societies about the adverse effect of carbon footprint and
promote sustainable development. Almost all the universities are reporting greenhouse gas
emissions and thus constantly taking initiative and building tools which used to calculate the
sustainability access of the greenhouse gases. Universities that open in a large city then its
impact on a environment and global warming is more because of the extraction of natural
resources to build itself.
Opportunities for sustainable building and design
The construction of sustainable building in a university has crucial impact on the
atmosphere and it causes so much destruction on the environment on a global scale (Lin and
Magnuson, 2018). Now its a high time that to realise that on what extant the destruction has
been made and learn from past mistakes. Emissions of gases and the burning of fossil fuels
causes contributed more to it. The most dangerous side of constructing an university is the heavy
machinery used for mining and extracting raw materials and resources from earth.

The environment impact of any construction work that is needed
The construction work is majorly affects the ecological balance of the environment.
It generates less waste and conserve natural resources. By making appropriate ventilation it also
ensures the improved air quality both inside or outside.

There are many factors that creates changes in the society which also affects business
environment in many ways . The impacts of society on the university of toutism, hospitality and
event industry are described below:
Changes to the demographic of the area
It describes when an university is established in large city which also affects its
environment due to changes in demographic area. The education plays the significant role in
order to develop the society in better manner (Theodori, 2018). This makes society to invest
more in the education which helps in improving the human capital as well as increase the
standard of living effectively by understanding the each and every aspect of quality of life in
better manner. By getting proper education help people to get effective job and earn money
which also create changes in the demographic area. This makes university to provide proper
knowledge about moral responsibility of the people towards the society in order to change the
perspective of demographic area. Many other factors are also implies that establishment of
university provides the impact of demographic area.
Increased education opportunities
This describes the most effective impacts of University which makes society to become
more educated and talented. By opening a University in near by area creates more opportunities
for the students in order to gain knowledge as well as develop skills. This will also helps in
motivating the students in effective manner and learn more knowledge in order to enhance their
career. The university that provide degree on Tourism Hospitality as well as events industries
gives opportunities to their understand that which types of skills are required in order to provide
best tourist service to their clients (Moore and Morton, 2017). For this universities organises
various programmes that help student to develop various skills in order to provide best service to
their future clients in order to make them satisfied. This will student to become more skilled and
educated which also creates opportunities to them to get effective employment in their future
career.

Issues related to crime and health and safety
The society is faces various issues related to crimes as well as health and safety. The
people who are uneducated and unoccupied are conduct various crimes which also impacts the
other life. By the opening of Universities in the city makes people educated and help them to get
more effective employment (Owens and Lilly, 2017). This will help society to decrease the
crimes rates as well as develop healthy and safest environment to their people which also
changes living standard of people. The education plays an important role in order to keep away
students from various crimes such as burglary, fonding and sexual assault. By the opening of
university related to tourism hospitality and event industries help students to learn how to
provide safest and healthier service to their clients in order to make them satisfied.

skills are most important capabilities of person that makes them to conduct a task properly and
achieve their goals effectively. The university of tourism, hospitality and event industry help

health and safety. These impacts create problems for the university to provide better learning to
their students.
RECOMMENDATION
According to the above discussion, it is recommended to the university of Tourism,
Hospitality and event industries to conduct several task that helps in increasing the benefits as
well as minimise the challenges while providing the education to the students. This will help
university to become highly recommended university for the students that encourage them to get

enrolled in the university. There are many ways which are recommended to the Tourism,
Hospitality and Event university to overcome the adverse impact of social, environmental and
economic on their university. These are described below:
Maintain sustainability- This refers to the most important for the university to maintain
sustainability in their learning in order to help student to understand about the use sustainable
things for protecting the environment. The healthy and natural environment in the country is
most important for the Tourism industry in order to attract tourist more (Kaur and Garg, 2019).
This makes university to provide the knowledge about the sustainable factors that helps in
protecting the environment in better manner.
Create job opportunities- As the university creates education opportunities in the
society which helps students to learn more skills and knowledge. This makes university to
collaborate with the companies related to tourism, hospitality and event industry in order to
create employment opportunities to their students (Chongthanapipat, 2021). By providing
effective employment opportunities to their students makes university highly competitive from
their competitors.
Provides healthy and safest environment to their students- The other things that an
university can do in order to increase the benefits for their students is to provide healthy and
safest learning environment that helps them to gain effective knowledge and develop skills. This
will create competition in between the student to get admission in their university (Gutierrez,
2020). This will also help in making students away from becoming criminals. This will also
helps in developing the good habits in the students and keeping away from bad habits like
drinking liquor, smoking, inhaling drugs, etc.
