The United Parcel Company is a global package deliveries company with a huge
investment in human and other forms of resources in the transport and communication industry.
The size of the company and the huge volume of goods and information involved has led to the
issuance of a lot of franchises and this makes it harder to manage. The human resource
department is confronted with the challenge of retaining a high standard of the services offered
by the company through its employees. The nature of the jobs in the companies are seasonal and
permanent and the company conducts interviews from time to time in the hiring the new
employees. The company also has a training program for workers such as truck drivers who
undergo comprehensive training sessions and are only given the jobs they applied for upon
successful completion of the training.
