URBAN DENSITY AND HOUSE
AFFORDABILITY

URBAN DENSITY
Urban density is an
integral concept in urban
planning and design,
which can help one
understand how cities
really function (Guneralp
et al. 2017).

Urban density refers to
the number of people
living in one specific
urbanized area.
As a matter of fact, it is
urban density which
determines the
sustainability of a city.
(Dovey and Pafka 2014), (Pan et al. 2013)

URBAN DENSITY AND SUSTAINABILITY
It has been found that urban
density affects the
sustainability of a city. In
other words, cities with
higher density are more
sustainable than those with
lower density (McFarlane
2016).

CASE IN POINT: AUSTRALIA
Australia and its cities
have been developed
based entirely on a policy
or urban density (Chhetri
et al. 2013).
