USA IN 2050 2
ANSWER-
United States has the most complex kind of diversity when it comes to ethnicity and
race. According to a recent census of united states, it was recognised that the five major racial
diversities that live in united states are- Black/African American, White American, Native
American, Asian American, Alaska natives, Hawaiian natives and many other pacific
islander. Not only is the diversity, U.S. also famous for its wide culture and age group
population in the country (Frey 2018 56).
Being a country with a huge area and an age old history that has had anti-
miscegenation laws and slavery as a dominant part, it is full of population that has races from
all over the world (Cohn & Caumont 2016 3). Here, we will discuss about the future of
population in terms of races, age, ethnicity and diversification in the U.S.
The face of America is changing day by day, people used to think that just because it
is America, white people is all a person can find in there, but things have changed and there is
a lot more diversity living there. Reasons being the change can be found in history. America
has attracted a lot of people from its neighbourhood because of the industrialization process
growing faster. This growth has resulted in the growth of Latino and Hispanic Americans to
17.8% at present and there is a rapid increase in this number as we are moving towards
future. California has more Hispanic’s, the largest minority than the native ones (Pictures "By
2050 Over Half of America's Population Will Be Hispanic" 2016).
If this situation does not stop to grow then, it is believed that America can turn to be a
white minority state by 2050. There has been a transformation from a dominant white
population to a rich variety of ethnic and racial minorities (US Census Bureau 2018). The
word minority has changed its definition and is taken to be a major part with a great role in
any USA’s culture and economy. Its ethnic view also includes the rapid growth of Arabs,
some percentage of Jewish people and many other groups emerging in several areas of the
United States (Cohn & Caumont "10 demographic trends that are shaping the U.S. and the
world" 2016).
This growing racial and ethnic profile can be seen in some specific communities and
states, like, the minorities make up at least one half of the population in los angles, Honolulu,
Miami and Sant Antonio. It’s been said that Texas, Hawaii, California and New Mexico will
make up as the minority majority community states. Whereas, states like, New Hampshire,

Maine, West Virginia and Vermont will continue to have a majority of white population
(Cohn & Caumont 2016 3).
Immigration will transform the social and economic implications because of widening
of needs and expectations of a larger and a diverse population. Different cultures will have
various economic expectations and will create a familiar social status of their own, creating
diversity. This has been increasing the Hispanic and Asian populations in the country (Frey
2018 55). By 2050, minorities will become more diversified socioeconomically. The
minorities have a graph, which shows that there has been a increase in number of people who
are earning degrees and getting recruited in public offices, but this is also truth that there is
high percentage of minorities, who are in prison or not even completing their high school
degrees. This might lead to a stagnant future in terms of economic and social conditions of
the United States (Passel & Cohn 2012 11).
United States is leading towards a multi-cultural and multi-ethical heritage. There will
be an equal makeup of all the races and cultures in the country’s workplaces, schools and
neighbourhoods. Businesses will increase as they will create a target market in the country
with a specific set of consumers.
Changing demographics will welcome new cultures, including food, music, art and styles in
the American society. By 2050, the world will see a re-vitalized America, which will have a
mix of different cultures and groups but this might even lead to the departure of European
heritage from their own place (US Census Bureau 2018).
The coming time will have a large size of population in the country and it might lead
to competition. Competition can bring in negative effects, like the hate crimes. Although,
America is handling the transition well, but this increase in the diversification can cause
America to be more busy dealing with their racial problems and this might bring down
America’s graph a bit down in the world structure (Frey 2018 55). Politically, it is bit difficult
for different people to choose their leaders as a racial discrimination is a prominent factor
when it comes to a political decision (Passel & Cohn 2012 11). Hence, it is not just 2050 that
is threatening the large federal group but, it is the process that needs to be checked. The
following years for United States, should b of utmost importance when it comes to the
arrangement of several ethical and racial groups in the country.
