The assignment discusses the torsional lateral moment buckling capacity of an elliptical cellular beam. The researcher performed a nonlinear finite element analysis using ANSYS software, incorporating geometric and material nonlinearities. The study aimed to simulate steel behavior with elastic-perfectly stress-strain curves. Results showed that the first mode shape of linear buckling was set to half-sine lateral torsional buckling mode, and the initial geometric imperfection was considered. The project supervisor assisted in understanding calculation methods from research journals.
