INTRODUCTION
The term family violence is mainly associated with the domestic abuse and includes a
violence or other abuse in a normal day to day domestic settings like marriage or any other form
of cohabitation. Further, it has been also seen at global level that mainly the victims of domestic
violence or family violence are overwhelmingly women and they tend to experience more severe
forms of violence as compared to males (Garcia & et. al. 2016). Therefore, the chosen relevant
social issue for current assignment is based on family violence against women from a feminist
perspective. The organisation which is selected to address and taken relevant action against this
social issues of family violence against women is WRISC family violence (Women's Resource
Information and Support Centre) who support works for women and children who have
experienced any kind of violence or abuse in a family or intimate relationship. This essay
comprises of a discussion about family violence against women as a structural and social issues
along with addressing potential changes and practises for better development of agency services
to address these social issues.
Main Body
The domestic or family violence is mainly related with the cases and situation of physical
violence that is mostly violence occurring within intimate relationships and mainly in the most
common and day to day domestic setting. At a large number and in most of the cases that family
violence is perpetrated by a male against their female partner along with the preferred term as it
encapsulates the broader issue of violence within extended families. Violence against women is
not a new concept and it is an issue that present in global society from many years and taken as
traditionally associated issues and social challenge (Pfitzner, Fitz-Gibbon & True, 2020). It has
been also analysed that the violence against women is mainly based upon cultural and historical
practices commonly known and treated as a gender-based violence which is often considered a
form of hate crime that is committed against women or girls based on a reason that are female
and thus, cannot take any forms.
As an individual issue the concept of family violence against women is based on the fact
that in families gender is understood as a main constitutive element on which all the forms of
social relations and other intention based upon perceived who are taken as socially constructed
and culturally variable which is leading a big gap and differences between females and males.
