Scatter diagram reflecting relation between total and opening weekend gross sales The total gross sales (TGS) and opening gross sales (OGS) are closely related to each other and their relation can be considered to have non-linear and positive correlation. Though higher values of OGS will definitely increase the TGS value but the overall increment in TGS also depends upon the sales of picture in consecutive days. Thus, it can be said that TGS not only
depends on only OGS instead it is calculated by adding OGS with sales collection in other days. It shows that there exists a non-linear relation between both of these variables which is controlled by third variable.
