INTRODUCTION
HR is one of most valuable assets for an organisation as they contribute towards
achieving desirable goals and objectives by using their skills and capabilities. For a firm it is
very much significant to work in self interest of their employees so that they remain motivated to
can put best efforts for corporation's as well as self development. Human resource one of scarce
resource that contributed in HR function to create value and success of an organisation. This
assignment is based on Next Plc which is an British multinational clothing, footwear and home
appliances retailer, headquartered is in Leicestershire. Respective report is based on significance
of organisational design in context of organisational structure for gaining strategies and tactics.
Further it includes the significance of developing the motivated, knowledgeable and experience
team of individuals in an organisation. In order to it examines the contemporary knowledge and
research in assistance of emerging HR developments to remain competitive in marketplace.

Organisational design is the chain of activities which proved beneficial to align or merge
the structure of a firm with their objectives in order to improve the efficiency and effectiveness
of organisational results in positive manner (Alblas, Wijsman and van Noort, 2019.). It is very
crucial for an organisation to opt one of best design of organisation to inventing a new solution
to resolve various kinds of issues that arise within the organisation for gaining potential
outcomes. In context of Next Plc that are one of popular brand name in the whole world to serve
the needs of consumers it is very crucial for them to select one of best organisational design that
contribute towards achieving organisational goals and objectives in positive manner. In context
of Next Plc which is UK based retailer offering the exciting and beautifully designed quality
clothing, footwear and accessories in their design of organisation consist of the business
strategies, human resource, operations and goals etc.. on other hand organisational structure
refers to the relationship in between the employees for sharing the consciousness in order to
comply mission of business. In context of respective organisation they follow the Matrix
organisation structure which is complex in nature and mixer of function and divisional structure.

Significance of organisational design theory:
Organisational design and structure is very much crucial for gaining desirable outcomes
as it helps in improving communication, enhance level of productivity and inspire innovation
(Antonacopoulou, Ropo and Taylor, 2019). It provides environment in which every one can be
able to give one of their best efforts, in context of Next Plc by using organisational design
employees by accessing their roles and responsibilities and can manage any problem skillfully.
Respective deign of organisation eliminate chaos, conflicts and improves relationship with in the
organisation that directly contributes towards enhancement of their level of motivation
positively.
Align organisational goals: Organisational design helps in align the organisational
design with business strategy and with market environment in which business operates.
In context of Next Plc they possess the right kind of business control by putting
flexibility in order to gain potential outcomes.
Responding to changes: For an organisation changes plays very much crucial role as it
helps to remain competitive (Chowdhury, 2019. ). It is very much crucial to respond with
proper planning against the changes in environment such as competition, technology,
global economy and consumer needs as well as changes that helps to bring evolutionary
