3 VALUE STREAM MAP Introduction This report discusses about the functional process of the value stream map that helps in visualizing of the functional process of a particular department. Implementation of the new terminologies that will be beneficial will be providing a better understanding of the data processing system. this data processing system instills the fact that proper treatment process is performed and the time that is taken is least. Usage of Electronic data warehouse will be helpful in completing the target of reducing of the waiting time. Background With the implementation of the current value stream map that is being used has several issues in commencing of the treatment process. Patients were facing a lot of issues in the processing of the treatment in the emergency department. This has been the major reason that change is expected in the system. This incurs the fact that proper management of data segmentation is performed. The delay that is caused is mainly because the nurses were solely responsible for performing the data circulation. This excess dependency on the functioning of nurses have been the main reason for the delay in the treatment process. This ensures that treatment of the patients in the emergency department gets affected. Hence improving of this scenario is the main concern of the report. 4 VALUE STREAM MAP The system archetypes that are used in this process includes the usage of the Escalation, Tragedy of the commons and eroding of goals in this process. As per the system archetypes of the escalation, reflection of the issues that are present in the processing of the business management is stated. This reflection of the statement helps in providing proper data sets that helps in understanding the issues that are present in the business management system. The escalation archetype is mainly concerned with the irony of the management that acts as a guideline for the organization for better executing of the business processing. This archetype also provides the scope of changes that can be made. This process is a result of the reductionist thinking (Azizi 2015). The action step that will be taken as per the escalation is highly predictive. The reason of this predictive output is due to the fact that the issue that is provided in the escalation is mitigated. In this case, the escalation is regarding the delay in time that hampers the treatment process in the emergency department. Mitigating this issue has been one of the major aspect of this report. Tragedy of the commons is considered to be a visual display of issues that are caused due to un-systematic approach of the business processing and needs a long term mitigation plan for better commencing of the management process. The resources that are taken into consideration includes resources, namely people, materials and other tools that are important in bettering of the business processing system. This archetype is mainly concerned with the overall output of the business management system and the individual issues that are present in the steps. In this case the main issue that is present includes the fact that proper management of the data orientation is performed as per the commencing of time that is taken to mitigate the issue (Andrade, Pereira & Del Conte 2016). This mitigation of issue includes the fact that proper understanding of the issue that is present in each and every step of the business management system.

This delay in treatment of the patient includes the fact that improper treatment process is implemented and the time that is taken to start the treatment process is also high. This issue needs to be mitigated as per the commencing of the business processing. Analysis of the Current State Value Stream Map based on System Archetypes Current State Value Stream map that is used in this case is time consuming and is supposedly inefficient. This inefficient processing of the data system incurs the fact that the time that is taken to complete the treatment process is very high. This value stream map is concerned with the functioning of the emergency department of a hospital. As per the value stream map that is present includes the fact that the entire value stream map is diverged in 2 parts, namely the Information flow and the material flow (Lacerda, Xambre & Alvelos 2016). In the beginning stages the patient enters the hospital and registers himself and provides the data that are regarding the insurance and the nature of injury that he is having. This information is provided to the nurse who will be attending the patient. After this the patient waits in the waiting area and then as per the description of the nurse the patient is taken to the waiting room. After this stage, the nurse starts examining the patient. After this examining stage the data of the patient is sent to the doctor. After sending of the data to the doctor the treatment process begins. This circulation of data causes high amount of issue that are regarding the time that is wasted regarding the data circulation process (Sachdeva, Kumar & Chaudhary 2017). The nurse then supplies with the diagnosis and supply needs that helps the doctors in treating the patient in a better manner. Again the patient needs to wait in this phase. After the testing process, the nurses bring the medical supplies and the doctor treats the patients. After this process, the main aspect that will be taken into consideration is that the insurance agencies take care of the functional processing, which
6 VALUE STREAM MAP lead to proper management of the financial transaction process. In between this phase the attendant is also kept informed regarding the data of the patients by the nurse. This ensures the fact that management of the data processing is performed by the nurses and hence the time that is consumed is more than expected. This is one of the major reason that the delay that is caused in the treatment processing phase affects the functioning process of the treatment. After completion of the treatment process, patients are provided with departure information. This departure information is again provided by the nurses. This again includes the aspect that the time that is consumed in the process increases. Hence proper management of the data system affects the functional process of the emergency department in a positive manner. The system archetype that is used in this case is the limit to growth archetype. As per this archetypethemainadvantagethatisusedintheprocessincludesthefactthatproper management of the task that is performed is performed with a particular decorum. This decorum insists that there will be guidelines and the entire process is to be performed with the help of that guideline. This process limits the growth of the system. This limiting of the growth of the system includes the fact that innovation process is not implemented and this is the main reason that processing of the business management gets affected in a negative manner. Recommendation of the new State Value Stream Map The new value stream map that is designed is performed with the help of the processing of the shifting of burden archetype. This shifting of burden archetype is concerned with the processing of the task that is to be performed by distributing the task among the resources that are present. This ensures the fact that proper management of the business processing gets performed as per the divergence resource functioning (Hung et al, 2015). This process also ensures the fact that proper overlapping of the phases can be created. This will again help in

As per the usage of the burden shifting system the main advantage that will be received is that hypothesizing of the symptomatic solution as the alleviating of the fundamental solution will be reducing the pressure of the implementing of the fundamental solution. The side effect of this process is that the fundamental solution gets undermine. Identifying the problem symptom is considered as a step of the business processing system. Mapping the quick fixes are also stated in the system. Developing of the multiple perspective has been one of the major aspect that provides better understanding of the remedial and mitigation strategy. This tool is generally is generally used for the processing of the reporting of data and analysis of the same (Tyagi et al, 2105). The main advantage that is gained after implementation of the data warehouse in the treatment process is that data can be entered from more than one source and hence the data set can be accessed from more than one system as well. In this tool data can be entered from multiple input system to a single data base. This helps in increasing the efficiency of the data circulation process. The new value stream map that is designed is similar to that of the existing value stream map but has an implementation of the Electronic data warehouse system. This introduction of the data warehouse system enhances the functional process of the data management system. In this case the patient visits the hospital and registers himself (Tamás 2016). During the registration process the data that the patient provide about himself gets stored in the data warehouse. Now the data that are stored in the data warehouse will be available to the system of the doctors as well as the nurses and the other attendants. In this case commencing of the data gets easier. The patient visits the ER room and waits there (King & King 2015). The nurses examines patient and then the patient waits for the doctors to examine the patient. After the testing phase the patient needs to waits for the processing of the entire scenario. After completion of the treatment process, the data that are generated in the treatment process, gets stored in the data base of the system and hence proper understanding of the financial aspect of the insurance company is made. With the help of the newly designed map, the waiting time can be reduced to half of the waiting time that was required earlier. Consequences of the new State Value Stream Map The consequences that will be received includes the fact that proper management of the data can be made. This management of the data will be providing an ace in governing of the
9 VALUE STREAM MAP treatment process (Jimmerson 2017). This ensures that the time that will be taken for the treatment process reduces. This reduction in the treatment process will help in bettering of the emergency treatment process. The negative consequence that is present in the system includes the fact that despite having advantages there is no direct advantage that is received (Suarez-Barraza, Miguel-Davila & Vasquez-García 2016). This ensure that the revenue that is spent in implementing of the tool will not be received in direct manner. Conclusion The dependency of the stages will be met as per the requirement of the time saving process. With overlapping of the phases that are to be performed will be having a better impact on reducing the time that is required in the treatment process of the patient in th emergency department. This is one of the major reason that the usage of the Electronic data warehouse will be beneficial in the commencing of the treatment process in the emergency department.
