INTRODUCTION
Value and ethics are the essential aspects that need to adopt by business to run business
operations in ethical manner to attain determined goals and objectives. these are the moral
principles that assist an individual to take efficient decisions and lead their actions towards right
direction. This report is covered in three parts and it contains the ideas of ethics and its
importance to organisation and the concept of corporate social responsibility. Along with that
ethical guidelines, marketing and advertisement laws as well as food regulations that need to
considered by the soft drink organisation. In third part of report, significance of team
collaborates and who the policies of guide the business collaborative working. Apart from that
strategies to motivate a team and consequence of poor collaborative working is explained.
TASK 1
Explain the concept of ethics and what it means to an organisation
Ethics: Ethics is defined as the system of moral principles that impacts of decision-making
process and life of an individual. The concept of ethic is concerned with what is good for the
organisation as well as society and it describe the moral philosophy that should be followed by
an individual. It is the practices of task that help an individual, community or society. An
organisation cannot survive in competitive business environment without following ethics and
values. Ethics is the concept of professional values that scrutinizes different ethics, values,
principles as well as belief that are used in an organisation (Wang, 2018). Ethics and values are
applied in different elements of business such as its legal conducts. In an organisation,
employees, workers and customers are included that are attached for business to gain benefits.
So, it is important for the organisation to understand their requirements and provide them the
same that is benefited for organisation as well as stakeholders. Business ethics is defined as the
application of different ethical values that guide the behaviour of business stakeholders. Business
uses values and ethics at all hierarchical level to take business decisions in properly.
In the context of Marks and Spencer, it is important to implement principle of moral and ethical
code of conduct that enable business enhance satisfaction of employees and help it to respond
outside environment in ethical manner (Van Wart and Denhardt, 2019). There are several
guidelines and principles are used by organisation to maintain the ethics and values in business.

through enhancing its brand awareness and recognition. It is considered as the principle that is
used by the organisation to contribute towards society. Marks and Spencer’s implement the

role in the growth and development of society. Respective organisation has taken the
responsibility of its employees, customers, partners, local communities and suppliers (Poikkeus

products and services across the world. There are various health and food related regulations are
implemented by the organisation (Paul, Jena and Sahoo, 2020). To conducts business operations
in UK, soft drink organisation need to comply with range of legislation because in UK market
laws are strictly followed as compared to other countries.

organisation to operate its operation in the maker of UK. Some ethical guidelines are explained
below:
Floating islands of the plastic waste: As per the survey of 2017, it is found that island is
impacted by the large number of plastic waste. Plastic bottles are the major plastic that
impact neutrality of islands. So, it is most important obligation on the soft drink
organisation to provide drinks in glass or other sustainable packaging as well as negate
the utilisation of plastic with the objective of protecting the atmosphere from harmful
impacts.
