INTRODUCTION
Value and ethics are the essential aspects that need to adopt by business to run business
operations in ethical manner to attain determined goals and objectives. these are the moral
principles that assist an individual to take efficient decisions and lead their actions towards right
direction. This report is covered in three parts and it contains the ideas of ethics and its
importance to organisation and the concept of corporate social responsibility. Along with that
ethical guidelines, marketing and advertisement laws as well as food regulations that need to
considered by the soft drink organisation. In third part of report, significance of team
collaborates and who the policies of guide the business collaborative working. Apart from that
strategies to motivate a team and consequence of poor collaborative working is explained.
TASK 1
Explain the concept of ethics and what it means to an organisation
Ethics: Ethics is defined as the system of moral principles that impacts of decision-making
process and life of an individual. The concept of ethic is concerned with what is good for the
organisation as well as society and it describe the moral philosophy that should be followed by
an individual. It is the practices of task that help an individual, community or society. An
organisation cannot survive in competitive business environment without following ethics and
values. Ethics is the concept of professional values that scrutinizes different ethics, values,
principles as well as belief that are used in an organisation (Wang, 2018). Ethics and values are
applied in different elements of business such as its legal conducts. In an organisation,
employees, workers and customers are included that are attached for business to gain benefits.
So, it is important for the organisation to understand their requirements and provide them the
same that is benefited for organisation as well as stakeholders. Business ethics is defined as the
application of different ethical values that guide the behaviour of business stakeholders. Business
uses values and ethics at all hierarchical level to take business decisions in properly.
In the context of Marks and Spencer, it is important to implement principle of moral and ethical
code of conduct that enable business enhance satisfaction of employees and help it to respond
outside environment in ethical manner (Van Wart and Denhardt, 2019). There are several
guidelines and principles are used by organisation to maintain the ethics and values in business.
Importance of ethics in organisation are mentioned below:

Control business malpractice: Ethics are the concepts and values that is important for an
organisation as well as support it to understand what actions and activities are good for
business growth and efficient running of operations. There are various ethical practices
and regulations such as environment laws, minimum wages and restriction against inside
trading that should be followed by the organisation (Tourigny and et. al, 2019). In case
business so not follow these principles than it has to face serious consequences.
Implementation of ethical principles facilitates Marks & Spencer to reduce unfair
activities such as promoting frauds, block marketing and misleading.
Ethics drives the employee behaviour: Implementation of ethical practices is important
for the business to leading the behaviour of employees and help them to perform their
operations with efficiency and effectiveness. Ethical culture of workplace reduces the
possibilities of conflicts and assists them to execute them in their personality as well.
Employees are the considered as the assets of organisation and play important role in
business growth and development. Ethics practices ensure that business take actions
towards betterment of worker. Marks and Spencer, make sure that it provides supportive
working environment and appropriate compensation, address their problems as well as
engaging them in decision-making that motivated them and improve their working
performance.
Improve business goodwill: Implementing ethics in business improves business image and
goodwill in market that enable business to attract attention of customers (Saha and et. al., 2020).
Marks and Spencer ensures that quality products and services are provided to customers. Strong
brand image help business to attain higher profitability and improve performance level in
competitive market place.
How businesses contribute to wider community and explain corporate social responsibility
There are various organisations that take various actions to improving the conditions of
society that provides various growth and development opportunities to business as well. There
are some methods that are implemented by the organisation with the objective of supporting
communities that are explained below:

Organisation provides its products and services to customers through tapping into new
market place.
