the northern part of the Australia (Dfat.gov.au 2018). The area has a small population of almost
272459 people and the economy of the concerned island country depends heavily on the foreign
tourists and the various meager kinds of income that they might procure from the sales of the
trinkets and other small items (Vnso.gov.vu 2018). The following report deals with the various
ethical and the governmental issues that are faced by the people who reside in the concerned
area. The report deals with the ethical action that might be initiated by the PO Cruises that have
been carrying the foreign tourists to the concerned islands. The report attempts a discussion on
the ways that might be used in order to rectify the concerned issues and the ways in which the

matters that are related to the corruption within the governing bodies as well as the matters that

the ones to help the concerned local residents to have a better life style. The major issue faced by
the residents of the area is the fact that their lives have vastly been commodified due to the
invasion of the tourists. There have been facilities that were exclusively available for the foreign
tourists but have not been available for the residents of the island (Widmer 2013). These might
include the access to the toilets that have been built in the area and the other matters that pertain
to the public health of the commoners of the islands.
The governance issues that are faced by the concerned residents of the island refer to the
corruption of the concerned government officials who have been acting in their own benefit
instead of acting in the benefit of the nation as a whole. The funds that should have been
allocated for the commoners of the area are found to be more in use for that of the various
personal uses of the government officials and not for the improvement of the common islanders
(Sbs.com.au 2018). The islanders have been known to have been on a mission to deal with the
loss of the funds that might have been collected from the foreign tourists. The Pentecost islanders
tends to implement their own regional government that might help them to rebuild the nation and
the various employments on the part of the local residents of Pentecost.

The concerned management of the PO Cruises might be observed to play the role of the
external powers that are responsible for the implementation of the ethical practices among the
communities that have been prevalent within the country. The concerned cruise operator should
look into the fact that the people who have been employed by the company to serve at the island

have not been observed to be corrupt in their dealings with the islanders as well as the tourists.
The cruise operators might not be considered responsible for the current conditions of the
islanders and the lives that are led by them.
Authorities responsible for the rectification of the issues
The issues that are faced by the islanders might be rectified with the intervention of a
number of factors and departments. The islanders themselves must proceed with the factors that
deal with the changes that might be brought about in the government of the concerned area. The
concerned residents of the nation might relate to the creation of the governments in the local
islands and not relying on the central governmental body that is active at the capital of Port Villa.
The local residents of the islands might be advised to create the local bodies as has been

government might also interfere in the matters that assist in the rectification of the various issues

has been taking place within the various matters that are related to the tourism in the country

Recommendations
The Vanuatu government might be advised to implement various measures in order to
deal with the present situation that exists within the nation. These might include providing
encouragement to the concerned residents in the matters that pertain to the creation as well as
the maintenance of the local governmental bodies that might take care of the needs and the
wants of the concerned residents of the islands wherein the local governments have been formed.
The Vanuatu government must also encourage the local residents to involve themselves in the
various indigenous business developments that might help them to have a better income as well
as help in the overall growth of the economy of the nation in discussion. The islanders must also
be motivated to participate in the various self-reliant activities that might help them to bring
forth a clarity in the economy of the country and thereby help in dealing with the money
laundering that has been taking place within the country.

island country, Vanuatu has been facing major issues that pertain to the lack of a proper health
