Victorian Mental Health Care Plan and its Impact on Mental Health Sector

Victorian mental health issue is including access to mental health services where general
practitioner provides primary care and specialist should be involved to provide better health care
services and when people get seriously affected by their illness. They need to be referred to the
specialist mental health service system. The Victorian mental healthcare plan outlines the
government's approach toward working directly with people with mental illness. It also includes
their families and careers for co-produce along with improving services towards mental health. It
provides information about the changing attitude to mental health and approaches for working
with people and mental health issues. Previously Victorian's mental health was assessed by a
general practitioner and when this condition get worse uncontrolled then, they were referred to a
specialist (Foster et. al., (2020)). The Victorian mental healthcare plan, allow people to get direct
access to mental health practitioners which can be effective and allow them to directly
communicate and receive the mental health care service. This can help to change the attitude
response to meet the especially and get better care services and treatment against mental illness.
Implementing the Victorian mental health care plan also creates the societal views of
mental health. Here, a large population was also involved to make the Victorian mental health
care plan which included persons were the people with mental illnesses, their families, careers,
and others. They were highly effective and included in the making of the Victorian mental health
in care plan which allowed to implement the approaches for working with people more
effectively. Changing government policy and taking the initiative to get direct treatment for the
mental illness. It allows to affect the mental health sector and improve better health care services
delivery for the mental health or mental illness (Goodyear et. al., (2022)).
Taking initiative by the government towards mental health in Victoria lead to an impact
on the mental health sector where the government takes the initiative to implement the Victorian
mental health care plan in which people may get directly contact with their mental health. People
can receive appropriate mental health services and treatment for their improved health. It also
affects the quality of mental health service care that can help to improve patients more
appropriately. Analyzing the Victorian mental health annual report 2019-20, it includes the
impact due to COVID 19. It has created a large impact on the delivery of mental health care
services. Here, people with mental illness needed to get directly communicate with their mental
health practices to improve their mental illness and get better mental health. The economic
situation has a high impact on the mental health sector (Kokanović et. al., (2018)). It has a high

impact on the people where due to changes in the economic situation, it created difficult to
receive the mental illness. Change in the current economic situation created difficulties for
people to live their quality of life and due to the presence of a covid-19 impact, it also creates a
large number of mental illnesses within the large population. The implementation of the
Victorian mental health 10-year plan allows improvising the delivery of mental health care
services to the patient for direct treatment for improving their mental health.
Mental health legislation in Victoria includes that people with mental illness should be
placed in the center for making their decision regarding care and treatment. This can be effective
and can help you to burst safeguarding and oversight for protecting individual dignity, rights and
autonomy with mental illness (Katterl, (2021)). This can be effective and can include a better
positive response to the legislation. There is a large number of the Victorian population who are
supporting this legislation and due to the improvisation of the Victorian mental health in the care
plan, it includes high benefits towards getting and receiving mental health care services from the
mental health worker. There are also some consequences of breaching the mental health
legislation which can lead to creating a situation of taking legal action against them.
