Call/Need for Vocational Training in Vietnam
This article highlights the need to initiate vocational training schools to come up with
vocational training for trainers and high school graduates in Vietnam on the position of
vocational training due to the rapid growth to feel the gap for the productivity of Vietnam and
some of its neighboring countries. Being a country with low productivity compared to the
neighboring country, there is a need for introduction or addition of vocational training schools in
Vietnam to improve access to education to fill the gaps to increase productivity in Vietnam.
This article also refers to the high rate of unemployment in Vietnam that is high
compared to the unemployment rate in a nation. Besides, it shows there is a need for a quick
solution to close the gap of unemployment to raise or improve the productivity of Vietnam. It is
also worth to note in this article, that most of the universities and colleges in Vietnam do not
offer more practical pieces of training required to prepare the graduates for employment, rather
engage the trainees more in theory education. This issue has led to a high number of high school
graduates to opt to join vocational training institutes which are few rather than join universities
and colleges.
This article shows there was a need for the Nation to request a strategy in reorganizing
technical and vocational college structures and their system of administration, and the Vietnam
Government is has solved the issue with the help of partner countries like Canada, Australia, and
the UK.
