CURRENT SYSTEM ANALYSIS AND MODELLING
Executive Summary
The Virtual child International Information system for the development of an information system
for the management of the data of the customers who have enrolled into the information system.
There are different various activities that are provided as a service to the children’s and their
records are maintained in the information system for providing efficient service to thee
customers registered with the park. A database of the information system is created containing a
set of questions that the children’s need to answer during entering the park. A checking is done at
the entry point for the validation of the entry of the children and the time is assigned to the
member depending on the number of right question answered by the children. For the
development of the information system some criteria is assumed and a list of functional and non-
functional requirement is created.

Task Part A: The Report Components
Introduction
The report is prepared for the Virtual child International Information system (VCI)
because it needs an information system. For the analysis of the requirement of the project the
background of the organization is analyzed and compared with the scope of the project for
starting the development of the information system. The scope of the project consists of the list
of functional and the non-functional requirement which is important for the feasibility study of
the project. The documentation of the report helps in evaluation of the system requirement and
reduce the errors in the information system. The flow of the data in the information system is
defined with the creation of the data flow diagram. For the identification of the relationship
between the entities the entity relationship diagram is created and attached with the report.
Company /Organization background
The Virtual Child International organization is a company that operates a park for the
children, where the children can come to the park after their school and perform some
recreational activities that would enhance their education as well. The park allows the guardians
to accompany the children inside the park. The main users of the system are guardians of the
students who enroll them for the activities within the park. In addition to this, the park consists of
staffs who assists the guardians in guiding through the park. The staffs are known as the Park
Rangers. The park rangers. In addition to this, the organization maintains a system where the
members have perform certain tasks before they are allowed entrance to the park. At the entrance
the children are allowed entry into the park and the guardians are required to pay the fees for the
children. The children allowed entry only after the payment have been done by the guardians.

CURRENT SYSTEM ANALYSIS AND MODELLING
Inside the park the members would be allowed to perform all the activities that they have signed
up for. Hence, for the procedures the organization maintains a system, however the system is
processed manually by the Park rangers and other staffs in the park.
Scope
The functional requirements of the determines the characteristics of the system. The
system functional requirements are as following.
i. Registration: The guardians of the children register themselves in the system. The
system requires the personal information of the guardians. The organization
requires this information for the future processing needs and decision making
purposes.
ii. Payment: The guardians pay for registration. The payment is accepting through
cash or card. The first payment is done at the time of registration. After the
validity of the registration ends, the guardians recharge again thorough paying the
required amount. The system handles the payment process through a payment
gateway installed in their system.
iii. Questioning: The system allocates time, a child can stay at the park based on the
questions they answer. The system will ask them questions and the children will
answer those questions. Based on how many correct answers are given, staying
time will be assigned to the child.
Non-Functional Requirement:
The non-functional requirement determines the quality of the system functions.

CURRENT SYSTEM ANALYSIS AND MODELLING
i. Security: As the system will be handling the payment process, the user card
number and other details are processed through the system. The system must
prevent an intruder from accessing this sensitive information.
ii. Reliability: The system has to be capable of processing all the functions and
queries with integrity and accuracy. The user request should be resolved within
minimal time.
iii. Data Integrity: The system must check the authenticity of the data before storing
it into the database. These data are later verified through third party applications.
If any data is found to be invalid, then the guardian is contacted and asked to
provide right information.

members entrance. The main facility of online is provided by depending on the guidance. The
guardian service is connected with the major service of VIC Park. They can view different type
of service in the system. They also able to see the major functionality of the VCI park system
like viewing invoice. They can sort this invoice view process for a particular day. The major
information about the park ranger and other details can be documented very quickly and easily.
The guardians can update the member details into the system. A training program for guardian is
preset into this system which is provided via online. The guardian can provide feedback
regarding this system and other member via this online training program. The guardians can give
their view or opinion about the current system. The payment system can be sort by month, day or

CURRENT SYSTEM ANALYSIS AND MODELLING
The entry system for the VCI park is control by the guardian. In the time of the entry a
question answer is created where the details of park are given like purpose for entry. Via this
question answer system, all the members are evaluated. The guardian can create different type of
parameter for different type of activities. Moreover, this system provides time details like how
many time a member spent in the park. This also recorded into this system. The main entrance
will be available for park after payment for the members. In the time entrance the member need
to payment. Without payment the members cannot enter in this park. This system also provide
different type of offers for the members which will reduce the payment amount. This is one of
the benefits for the members. This offers are not available for all members. Those are already
register or previous member only they can avail this offers. List of member entrance service are
given bellow:
› IF (finish homework == yes && study == yes &&Chores == yes)
› Receive bonus
› Enter
› Else
› Enter without bonus

Conclusion
From the above report it can be concluded that the system analysis and modelling of an
information system is necessary for the success of the information system. It helps in
identification of the constraints early during the starting of the development stage of the
information system. The flow of the data in the information system and the relationship between
the entities are also identified for analysis of the scope of improvement that can be applied for
increasing the security off the informations residing in the database of the information system.
The data dictionary and the description of the process is given for identification of the entity and
an event table is created for identification of the response to the event and the responsibility of
the user.
