About virtual reality
Virtual reality was invented in 1957 and was patented in the year 1962. Virtual reality
is referred to the technology that is developed as an interactive computer generated
equipment that are used in a stimulated environment. This is used for the purpose of receiving
auditory and visual feedback and sometimes used for obtaining the sensory feedback. Virtual
reality are used for several purposes and helps in engineering, designing, business and in
entertainment industry. This offers a better perspective towards the world. This are used for
the purpose of developing new models, communication and as a training methods. There are
mainly four different types of virtual reality devices, this includes oculus rift that comes
along with a VR headset, HRC vive, Samsung Gear VR and Google Cardboard. The main
purpose behind the development of virtual reality is to view the screen with an enclosed
booth that will display the stereoscopic images. In other words it can be said that virtual
reality uses computer technology for creating a stimulated environment. VR aims at
developing an environment in which the user will experience the scenario as a live event.
This involves interacting with the 3D worlds. The basic working of the virtual reality
application is that it stimulates the vision. Every headset offered by the virtual reality aims at
providing a perfect approach towards the creation of an immersive 3D environment (Wilson
et al., 2017). There is a put up screen for every headset that are fixed in front of the eyes that
eliminates any interaction with the real world. Virtual reality possess a great importance in
today’s world as it offers a better sense of entertainment. This are used in film industry and

realistic world and allows the user to explore different places. With the use of virtual reality
user can have experiment with the artificial environment. Moreover the concept of virtual
reality helps in easy and comfortable learning. This engages the users more and attracts more
student. The problem that arises with the use of virtual reality is that in case of delay between
the person’s action and system response then the experience of the user will get disrupted.
This leads to the awareness of the fact the environment is artificial and they adjust
accordingly (Hodson, 2017). The virtual reality uses host of technologies for achieving the
goals and is technically complex. With time it is observed that the technology is becoming
cheaper and is adapted by maximum number of people throughout the world. Thus virtual
reality will enhance the experience in every fields.
Application 1 Virtual reality in military
Virtual reality has been implemented by military for the purpose of parachuting
simulation. The three services that uses virtual reality includes army, air force and navy.
Virtual reality has been used for the training purpose in military industry. This offers a great
advantage towards the training of soldiers for combat situations. This helps in teaching the
soldiers the way they needs to react at the time of intense conditions (Sherman & Craig,
2018). Virtual reality simulation enables to identify the situation without risking the life of
the soldiers. This application is safer and needs less cost as compared to traditional training
methods. The virtual reality is used in military for different types of simulations (Hemanth et

healthcare sector is that it allows professional to develop and learn new skills that will refresh
the existing ones in a better and safe environment (Sanna & Manuri, 2016). This will ensure
that proper function is performed by keeping the patient in a safe situation.
Human simulation software is one of the example of virtual reality that enables the
doctor, nurses and other medical executives to interact properly with the others in an
interactive environment. The medical staffs are engaged into training scenarios so that they
can have an idea to interact with patient but within an environment maintained by 3D

the student to understand the complex data in an accessible way. In addition to this the
student has the ability to interact with the object while staying at the environment. This
develops better quality in the student as they enjoy the study they become more interested in
discovering the features. Apart from this the virtual reality has gained a huge importance in
different fields of education. In the field of astronomy learning, the students are capable of
learning more about the solar system and the working of the system by getting engage with
the objects present within the system. With the use of this technology the students has the
ability to move the planets and can see the stars around them. In addition to this the student
possess has the chance of tracking the progress of a comet in the solar system (Chow et al.,
2017). This helps the students with particular learning style as it enhances the working and
