Introduction
Virtualisation is a type of technology which is a process to generate a software-
based representation of any data or information. It is the most common technology to
decrease the IT expenses and also improve the efficiency of any organization and
business. This report is explaining the role of virtualization in an organization,
advantages, and disadvantages of virtualization (Brettel, Friederichsen, Keller, &
Rosenberg, 2014). The main objective of this report is to understand the importance of
virtualization technology in the field of information and technology.
Discussion
Why virtualization is important
Virtualization technology is very important for networks experiencing and also
used to improve the efficiency of any business. Virtualization provides secure access to
employees that mean any employees can access corporate sources from anywhere using
virtualization technology (Han, Gopalakrishnan, Ji, & Lee, 2015). This technology also
centralizes confidential data which means any organization can corporate threats and
risks by allowing employees to manage data and information and protect from virus
infections.
What is virtualization?
Virtualization is defined as a technology which is used to create virtual thing
rather than actual and it is also called a version of something like a server, network
resources, and an operating system (Li, & Chen, 2015). There are six types of
information technology where this technology is used such as network virtualization,
storage virtualization, server, data or information virtualization, desktop, and
application virtualization. Virtualization has defined as an act of generating a virtual
version of something that involves software, hardware’s, data storage, and network
resources.
Where virtualization is can be used
Virtualization is one of the modern technologies which are used in many
organization and industries to improve their productivity and efficiency. There are
many applications where virtualization technology can be used such as digital forensics

education, public security, in fire services, in banking sectors, and in information and
technology systems.
Who can use virtualization?
Virtualization is an advanced technology which is increased in the last few years
and there are many organization and industries they are using this technology to
improve their efficiency (Liang, & Yu, 2015). At that time physical hardware is very slow
and to improved speed of hardware’s virtualization technology is used and it is
estimated that this technology increased around 50% efficiency of hardware networks.
There are many organizations they are using this technology such as Coca-Cola, Google,
Microsoft, and Samsung.
Where virtualization can be used
Virtualization technology is increasing rapidly in the last few years and many of
organization are using this technology because it improves efficiency and productivity
of any business. This advanced technology can be used in any organization, industry,
and in the banking sector to improve overall efficiency and most common application of
this technology is in banking sectors for security purpose.
When virtualization is used
Virtualization is used in any organization when a manager wants to improve
their efficiency and productivity. This technology provides a platform to improve the
efficiency and productivity of any business. For security purpose, this technology is
used and if any problem occurs in networks system then virtualization technology is
used to resolve any problem and also increase the speed of hardware system (Liang, Yu,
& Zhang, 2015). There are main five reasons to use virtualization technology in an
organization such as to reduce data center costs, improve server system, improve the
availability of hardware's, increase flexibility, improve the security of data or
information from the virus.
Advantages of Virtualization technology
Virtualization technology is increasing rapidly in last few years and the main reason
of this increment is that it provides a viable clarification to an organization to improve
productivity (Mijumbi, Serrat, Gorricho, Bouten, De & Boutaba, 2016). By using this

technology many organization reduced workload in the data center and also save
energy. There are many advantages of virtualization technology such as
Reducing spending
Disaster recovery
Better business continuity
Improve efficiency
Very cheap process
Reduce workload
Improve deployment of resources
Promotes digital entrepreneurship
Save energy
Disadvantages of Virtualization technology
This advanced technology improves the security of data but also increase security
risks and threats in an organization. There are several disadvantages of visualization
technology in the field of technology such as
The high cost of execution
It has several limitations
Improve security risks
Produce availability issues
Generate a scalability problem
Takes more time
Very complicated process
Costly for maintenance
Does not support all applications
Recommendation
There are many disadvantages of this technology which can be resolved by
improving the quality of services and by developing advanced security services.
Through which security risks can be reduced and the complexity of virtualization can be
decreased by improving systems efficiency.

Conclusion
Virtualization is an advanced technology and there are many organizations
which are using this technology because it provides a platform to improve efficiency
and productivity. This report explained virtualization technology, the importance of
virtualization technology, the advantages, and disadvantages of virtualization
technology. Through this technology, many or organization improved their efficiency,
for example, coca cola, Google, and Samsung. The main advantage of this technology is
that it improves security systems and also provides a backup plan by using cloud
computing. Employees should improve the speed of hardware by using virtualization
technology and should increase the security of data or information. The organization
should adopt this advanced technology because it can increase productivity and
efficiency in less time.
